Ques/Comments From My HeadBangers

Patricia T.

Write more, that’s all I have to say.ย  Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.ย ย

You definitely know what you’re talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read?

Thank you Patricia for taking time to comment.ย  ย First off this blog is my baby.ย  When I’m creating the blog, I put in videos because the songs speak to me and I want my readers to see if they can feel the same fire I do.ย  Secondly I am not wasting my intelligence, it’s all part of the process.ย  In the “My Thoughts” section at the end on each blog I speak to my HeadBangers about everything they’ve read up to that point, and give my feelings about the band and their music.ย  So see without the videos they wouldn’t know what I’m talking about.ย  It’s all a process and all my HeadBangers know that.ย  But thanks for your comment and I’ll see what I can do about adding a little more of my thoughts..ย  Thanks again.

Week 65 – HOUNDWOLF

Thank you for your support:

My HeadBangers, welcome from Witten, Germany:ย  HOUNDWOLF

“Fast and Loose”

Here’s some Bio taken from their site.ย  It was in German originally so hopefully this is all correct.ย  If not my deepest apologies.

HOUNDWOLF is a heavy metal band from Witten (Ruhr area), which is dedicated to the Genre in its original rockโ€™nโ€™roll-driven form. The joy of playing, the songwriting and the authenticity of the statement always in the foreground. The band released after some demos on 06.10.2016 her debut EP โ€œFast and. Produced by Mike Misar (Label: M71) Loose โ€, which contains three tracks from the upcoming album. The band consists of Milan SchloรŸmacher (lead vocals & guitars), Tobias Maienschein (Guitars & Backings), Daniel Teuchert (Bass & Backings) and Thomas Neuhaus (drums). The age range of the four members is between 23 and 27 years. The band has been successful for years with aggressive, fast riffs and groovy Hard rock parts to form songs with absolute catchy tunes and this to drive into the audience with conviction. The bandwidth of the Quartetts from punchy up-tempo riffs to catchy choruses and aggressive rock’n’roll to uncompromising moshparts and thus delivers Everything the Hardโ€™nโ€™Heavy heart desires. However, quieter ones also belong Passages and melodic hard rock ballads to the HOUNDWOLF repertoire. Despite the enormous versatility, the music of the four Witteners comes without any sound samples or backing tracks and yet remains sound unmistakable. HOUNDWOLF stands for honest and direct heavy metal, which is his at all times Roots in hard rock can be seen and always a central message:

HAIL ROCK AND ROLL

Let’s meet the band:

Guitar/Vox – Milan SchloรŸmacher
Guitar – Tobi Maienschein
Drums – Thomas Neuhaus
Bass – Daniel Teuchert

Just a little info on Witten:

Witten is a tiny gem in Germanyโ€™sย Ruhr region, lapped by the River Ruhr and considered to be the birthplace of the Ruhrโ€™s rich mining industry. Today, this beautiful town woos tourists with a number of unique mine-themed attractions: industrial museums, hiking trails dotted with remnants of the industry, and exciting mine tours. Letโ€™s plan a wonderful short getaway to Witten.

The guys are banging it out:

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers there is something about these bands from Germany that just grabs me.ย  I have been told I have “the ear”.ย  ย  I can tell where a band is from by listening to their music.ย  ย I know it’s weird but it’s true.ย  ย Like Finland,ย  the bands have a distinct sound, which is hard for me to explain to someone but I can always spot them.ย  The same is with Germany.ย  ย I love this band, and I cannot wait to hear more from them.

Well that’s it for this week my HeadBangers.ย  Join me next week for anotherย  band and another song.ย  ย In the mean time, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Now my HeadBangers, time for some bio, given to me directly from the band:

Shadecrown is a melodic Death / Doom metal band from the heart of Finland.ย  The main song writer is Saku Tammelin, their Keyboardist.ย  The band was founded in 2012.ย  So far the band has released 1 demo (ST), 1 EP (Chained) and 2 full length albums: “Agonie” (2016) and “Riven” (2019).ย  ย The bands that have had the biggest influence on them are Sentenced, Insomnium, Pantera, Swallow the Sun and more.

“Lifelong Dying”

OMFG PASKA listen to those growl vocals.ย  I swear I can feel them go into my bones.ย  I love it when you feel that sound crawling thoughout your body.ย  Seriously my HeadBangers there is nothing better thanย  great growl vocals to make you come back to life.ย  Trust me I know, and I have been there.ย  No I’m coming back to life, thank you Jari and the rest of the guys.

“The Ghost I Mourn”

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers hold on while I catch my breath.ย  Right now I am sitting here with my eyes closed and blasting these guys all around me.ย  I feel like I’m floating somewhere in a dark cloud totally at peace and smiling my ass off with goose bumps all over me.ย  It does not get any better than this.ย  I am totally mesmerized by this band, you know like a Raven with shiny things.ย  Yes Ravens, messengers of the Gods.ย  ย So whenย  you’re listening to this extremely talented bunch of guys close your eyes and join me in the darkness, be at peace, it doesn’t get much better.ย  Add this band to your list.ย  I’m so glad I found them or they found me only the Raven knows for sure.

This week’s comment is from:

Wilt K.

Admiring the dedication you put into your blog and in depth information you offer.ย

It’s awesome to come across a blog every once in awhile that isn’t the same old rehashed information.ย  Wonderful read!ย  I’ve book marked your site and I’m including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

Thank you so much Wilt.ย  I appreciate you taking the time to leave such a nice comment.ย  It’s alot of work but, I love my metal music and my HeadBangers.ย  There’s was a time that I did think of throwing in the towel but 3 of my bands said no, keep doing what you’re doing.ย  Their words encouraged me to keep going and here we are.ย  I work full time and the rest is the blog.ย  What started out as a couple hours of work ended up being 5 nights a week and weekends listening to bands, communicating with them, and since they are everywhere on this planet I try to juggle my time to suit their needs.ย  All in all I love it and plan to continue the blog for a very long time.ย  It is my fire…..

Questions from my HeadBangers

Something new to the blog for 2020 my HeadBangers, I get tons of comments and questions weekly, so I thought I would pick one a week and post them, just ask away I’m not the shy type or afraid of haters……

This I thought was pretty interesting:

From:ย  Danielle L.

First of all I would like to say wonderful blog!

I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don not mind.ย  I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.ย  I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts an getting my ideas out there.ย  I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin.ย  Any suggestions or hints?ย  Many thanks!

Well Danielle, thanks for the comment and the question.ย  First off what works for one person might not work for another.ย  I am very passionate about my music and the bands I put on the blog.ย  I always listen to them first, I don’t judge music because as I always say what speaks to me may not speak to you.ย  With that being said I can tell you the process I go through:

First I get a big cold coke with lots of ice and some sour cream and chives Pringles or crackers and sit in front of my laptop.ย  I always play the current bands music in the back ground so that it soaks into me.ย  I also look at all the pics and info on the band I have, alot of them I communicate with and you can get a feeling about how deep their music runs in them and that spills over into me.ย  When you listen to a song and feel it beating in your chest how can you not know what to say.ย  I’ve always been a writer one way or another and the words just come to me when I start to type.ย  Don’t get me wrong I have had a couple times where I just hit the wall and had nothing to say, the words didn’t come, so I don’t force it I just waited a couple days and came back and there it was.ย  In the end it all comes from the fire inside, your feeling and your joining with the music, be still and listen it will come my HeadBanger…….

Let’s meet the band:

Alex Huffman – Vocals

Christian McManama – Guitar

Aaron Hoover – Guitar

Tyler Monell – Bass/Vocals

Cody Patton – Drums

“HELL ON EARTH”

Here’s some bio, taken from their site:

We play loud music, drink beer, eat burritos and kick each other out of the band alot.ย  They’ve been active since 2004-2005.ย  ย I know this isn’t much but it’s all I could find.ย  I have reached out to the band, however they are constantly working so if I hear from them I will update as necessary.ย  However listen to the music its badass my Headbangers.

Their influences are:ย  Poison the Well, Darkest Hour, Unearth, At the Gates, In Flames, Bad Religion and Deftones.

“UNLEASH THE SERPENTS”

My Thoughts:

You all know how I feel about the growl vocals and this band has a great vocalist in Tyler Monell.ย  I would rate his vocals up in my top 15.ย  This band is constantly performing, check their FB page for upcoming gigs.ย  As I said I couldn’t find out much about them but if I hear from them I will update.ย  But their music is kick ass so as the Bringer Of Fire I brought it lmao.ย  Enjoy my HeadBangers.

A few interesting things I found out about Cincinnati was:
One of the earliest references toย Cincinnatiย as the โ€œQueen Cityโ€ was an 1819 newspaper article thatย called Cincinnatiย the โ€œQueenย of the West.โ€ย
Cincinnatiย is home to three major sports teams: theย Cincinnatiย Reds of Major League Baseball; theย Cincinnatiย Bengals of the National Football League; and FCย Cincinnatiย of Major League Soccer.
Cincinnatiย averages 15 inches ofย snowย per year.
See not only can you find new bands here but also some facts about their home towns.
Well that’s it for this week, join me next week for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

“The Black Sacrament”

Let’s look at some bio on this threesome, take from their site:

Formed in 2011. Based on styles from old school raw atmospheric black metal. After so many lineup changes and downfalls Immersed in Darkness still had the strength to move forward and continue writing music. In 2012, the band progressed with shows and shared the stage with Goatwhore at the Disembowelment Fest (Corpus Christi, Tx).

The second album “Seas of Deception” was released. In 2013, the split album with Of Forsaken Divinity “Black Sacrilegial Offerings”. In 2014, Immersed in Darkness played at the A Day In The Valley Of Death III Fest and just released their split album with Tenebra Dominus “Supreme Blood Oath”.

Spectral Lore
Leviathan
Hecate Enthroned
Moon
Limbonic Art
Vampyric Blood

“My Fallen Bride”

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers here are a few facts about Brownsville, that I found interesting.ย  It is relatively small with a population of around 184 thousand.ย  It is also park of the Rio Grand Valley, and a popular location for beach tourist.ย  How did Atmospheric Black Metal pop up here?ย  That’s the thing about Metal, it knows no boundaries.ย  It’s everywhere my HeadBangers and every blog is proof of that.ย  From Brownsville to Moldova let the Metal blast.ย  There’s not alot out here on this band but I like their sound and felt like bringing it to you, you be the judge.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song, until then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

UPDATE – KALMO – KHREESTMAS

Thank you for your support my HeadBangers

https://paypal.me/pools/c/8grRi0PWRk

Kalmo has released a Khreestmas doom metal single and music video,

For immediate release

Hell awaits ye rotten servants, yโ€™all should dismay. Forgotten demon savior resurrected today.ย  Kalmo has dragged a traditional Khreestmas carol through the dark dungeons of hell and mutated it into a Kalmo version. The song titled โ€˜Hell awaits ye rotten servantsโ€™ is available at Kalmoโ€™s Bandcamp and also as a music video at Kalmoโ€™s YouTube channel.

โ€œThis project was fun to make and, like always, it was a source for learning something new. There was a plan to produce a music video too. Unfortunately, it didnโ€™t go as planned at all. The video is disaster recovery version C. However, the music is the most important thing anyway. Merry Khreestmas to you all
doomed ones! \m/โ€

I want to rise a skull and say big thanks to Runar Magnussen for mixing and mastering the song.

Kalmo (cadaver in English) is a Finnish one-man doom metal project. Kalmoโ€™s doom metal is distinguished by its simplicity, brutality and harsh sound. The debut EP Demoni was released in May 2019. In addition to the EP, Kalmo has released a couple of music videos. Songs for the next EP are work in progress and hopefully it will be released during the year 2020.

Hell awaits ye rotten servants

From the Realms of the Far North, an Army of six Icelanders rushes towards Battle!

Welcome my HeadBangers, from Reykjavรญk, Iceland:  Skรกlmรถld.

“Mร“RI”

Love some Epic Viking Metal, how can you not

8

Let’s meet the band:
Baldur Ragnarsson – Guitar – Vocals
Bjรถrgvin Sigurรถsson – Vocals – Guitar
Gunnar Ben – Keyboards – Vocals – Oboe
Jรณn Geir Jรณhannsson – Drums – Vocals
Snaebjรถrn Ragnarsson – Bass – Vocals
รžrรกinn รrni Baldvinsson – Guitar/Vocals
“Gleipnir”

Let’s look at their bio, taken from their site:
Skรกlmรถld was founded in August 2009 and has since then become the biggest metal act in Iceland. The band’s Debut album, “Baldur” was released late 2010 and was immediately a huge success, both with the metal scene and the more mainstream crowd. Skรกlmรถld then released the album via Napalm Records in 2011 and has made quite an impact on the international metal scene since then. After more than a year of touring and promoting Baldur, Skรกlmรถld headed back to the studio to record their second album entitled “Bรถrn Loka” (Loki’s Children). It was released in late 2012 and followed by extensive touring throughout 2013. The year came to a grand closure when Skรกlmรถld joined forces with Iceland Symphony Orchestra for three sold out shows in Icelandโ€™s largest concert hall, Harpa. The concert was released as CD/DVD and became an instant best seller.

Skรกlmรถld plays music that could be described as Battle Metal, a potion of Epic Viking Metal, old school Death and Thrash Metal, entwined with the Icelandic heritage. The lyrics are all written under the strict rules of the ancient Icelandic poetry and influenced by the heathen roots of the Nordic nation. The outcome is a powerful mixture of Heavy Metal and Heroic Sagas, erupting from the boiling core of the frozen Island.

The band puts on a killer show, rock tight and energetic, so be sure don’t to miss out on Skรกlmรถld. And in the end, who would be better suited for telling stories of the Vikings but the Vikings themselves?

My thoughts:
Well my HeadBangers, even if you can’t understand them, they are pure and simple fire.  Their videos and their performances are fantastic.  Just look above and you have to agree.  Even with an orchestra as background, the raw viking sound comes through and I love it.  Of course I am a Viking Warrior.  Check them out you won’t be disappointed.
Well that’s it for this week HeadBangers.  Join me next week for another band and another song.  In the meantime, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 60 – The Local Band

Your support is greatly appreciated:

https://paypal.me/pools/c/8grRi0PWRk

Here they are my HeadBangers.ย  They need no introduction, they are some of the best gathered together for a great time and great songs.ย  They deliver the best concert and everyone there had a fantastic time.ย  All the singing and smiles it was just Perkele a great evening.

This was the first song I ever heard from The Local Band, after that I was hooked.

“Sunglasses at Night”

Then there was this song OMFG, they had me forever.

“Untouched”

For those of you who don’t know anything about this band of great musicians, let me fill you in (taken from their site):

A story of true hard rock friendship

It was a warm dark night before Christmas in Los Angeles in 2013. Jussi 69 (The 69 Eyes) and Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom) met in Hollywood, had a couple of drinks and…

Alexi: “Dude, we gotta get together, play some Poison, Mรถtley and drink some Jack.”
Jussi: “Ok, when?”
Alexi: “Christmas.”
Jussi: “Cool.”

They shook hands and swore that they really were going to make this happen. The key word and the whole idea behind The Local Band would be to have FUN. No stress, no pressure, and definitely no business plans.

Right after Jussi and Alexi decided to do this, it was obvious they would need a charismatic singer, one who could handle all the classic hard rock super hits, from Jump to Girls, Girls, Girls, amongst all their other favorites. Jussi decided to send a message to Reckless Loveยดs Olli Herman.

โ€Naturally, I was immediately exited and kept saying: “Yes โ€“ HELLYEAH!!!”, over and over again while listening to Jussi talk me through the idea. Nothing could’ve kept me from taking part after I heard we would only perform killer songs from all the greatest 80’s hair metal bands. I couldn’t believe it. All my favourites!! I was extaticโ€, says Olli.

To complete the line-up they got Archie Cruz from Santa Cruz to play bass. Now this crazy crew was ready to rock!

Archie: โ€When I got the call from Jussi, my jaw basically hit the floor. I had been watching these guys, these huge rockstars since I was a kid, and never in a million years thought I’d be in the same band with them when I was practising Bodom riffs in my bedroom, or watching a 69 Eyes show as a kid. The fact that we’re playing pretty much all of my favorite songs makes it even cooler. Being a part of The Local Band is a dream come true for me and itยดs been one of the coolest things in my life to be a part of this.โ€

The Local Band was supposed to last for one night only, for a single show at the legendary Tavastia club in Helsinki, with just one interview, no rehearsals and half a soundcheck. But the universe had some other plans for these rock gods, and now the mighty quartet is spreading their good vibes around the world: Their upcoming Locals Only โ€“ Dark Edition debut EP, full of all-time-classics, is coming out Dec 4th!

If you ask Jussi, the idea of recording an EP was written in the stars.

Jussi: โ€Some weeks after our first show I walked into a bar in New York and they were playing Shout At The Devil by Mรถtley Crรผe โ€“ which was our opening song at the Tavastia show โ€“ followed by Sunglasses At Night by Corey Hart. I saw this as a sign, and called Alexi to say that we canยดt leave this cool thing here. We have to do this, we need to record a single, and At Night is the most perfect song for us to cover.ย  Alexi agreed immediately. We didnยดt want to cover the most obvious songs that every other cover band plays, as those songs are perfect the way those bands originally recorded them. We wanted to surprise people with unexpected, twisted songs. Suddenly recording just one song expanded into an EP. And itยดs A perverse, totally unexpected collection of songs that me and Alexi came up with. Those are some of our favorites that pretty much nobody knows.โ€

The EP was recorded in four days, and The Local Band is very proud of the result.

โ€Itยดs a killer, mind blowing party music EP which is going to blow peopleยดs minds. Oh, and the key word, the reason why we did this, even though every one of us is busier than ever with our own bands… We had so much fun doing it, a fucking blast! I know that can be heard from the end resultโ€, says Jussi.

The band:

Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom)
Jussi69 (The 69Eyes)
Olli Herman (Reckless Love)
Samy Elbanna (Lost Society)

Samy Elbanna replaced Archie Cruz from Santa Cruz.

I tried to video every song they did, so I have just posted them for you.

My thoughts:

I love this band simply put because it’s all about good old songs and fun.ย  They enjoy what they do and you can see it in every song.ย  Their interaction with the crowd is a pleasure to see.ย  Not to mention the number one drummer, Jussi, and number one guitar and growl vocalist, to me, on the planet, Alexi.

ย Since doing this blog, over a year now, and doing a band a week sometimes more.ย  I have found that I am no longer a participant at a concert but, more of a student.ย  ย I’ve noticed that now I am quiet and more focused on the players in the band and their sound, what they bring to the crowd.ย  Most of the time there is only one maybe two in a band that grab my ear.ย  I have developed a very deep appreciation for each player and their talent, what they bring.ย  There is more to a band than a group of people playing music.ย  Each one has a talent and love of what they do.ย  ย I have found that each player, no matter the instrument, drags from the deepest part of themselves this sound and when combined with the other players it is pure metal a sound thatย  bores into your soul and burns in your blood.ย  It awakens every part of you, physically and mentally.ย  Hell why do you think HeadBangers can’t sleep after a show lmao.ย ย

Every band can teach you something, if you listen.ย  At your next concert try to quiet yourself and be the student.ย  You will hear and feel things you haven’t before, trust me I know.ย  It’s an amazing experience and I’m glad to be the student, it has awakened me.

Well that’s it for this week my HeadBangers.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime, yeah it’s coming, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 59 – Re-Armed

Your support is appreciated:

https://paypal.me/pools/c/8grRi0PWRk

My HeadBangers, welcome from Kerava, Finland:ย  ย Re-Armed

Melodic Death – Thrash Metal at it’s finest.

“Built to Last”

Let’s meet the band:

Iiro Karjalainen – Drums

Juhana Heinonen – Bass and backup vocals

Jouni Matilainen – Lead Vocals

Oskari Niekka – Guitars and backup vocals

Allan Vรคlimaa – Guitars

“Lullaby of Obedience”

Let’s look at some bio taken from their site:

Re-Armed have been around since 2001, when five guys decided to start playing similar music likened to so-called “Gothenburg metal”, what is now better known asย “melodic death metal”. Their musical style has evolved along with many critically acclaimed demo tapes, gigs, lineup changes and a well received debut album โ€œWorldwide Hypnotizeโ€, which appeared internationally via German, Massacre Records in January 2012. This was followed by tours in Europe along with American bands Chimaira, Suffocation, Origin, Cattle Decapitation and Canadian death metallers Cryptopsy. In the same year the group made their first outdoor appearance in United Kingdom’s, Bloodstock Open Air heavy metal festival.

The second album โ€œRottendamโ€ was released in January 2014 via German, Eternal Sound Records, but major lineup changes froze the band almost for a year. Former guitarist/songwriter Tommi Helkalahti decided to leave the band – leaving vocalist Jouni Matilainen as the only current former member in the band.

In 2015 the new lineup is in order faster than expected. Self-released EP โ€œTotal Lack of Communicationโ€ was released in August 2015 and the band toured in Finland, Baltics and China to support the release.

The band released their third album โ€œThe Era of Precarityโ€ in September 2016 via Finnish, Saarni Records. The album is the band’s most acclaimed release so far according to Metal Rules webzine’s review “Their most ambitious, fully realized work to date.” Within 2016 and 2017, Re-Armed toured first time in Japan with Finnish melodic death metal band Insomnium and in Spain with German thrash metallers Dust Bolt to promote the album.

In the fall of 2018, after the numerous tours and shows on behalf of the third album, Re-Armed is releasing a new single โ€œBuilt To Lastโ€, introducing their newer lineup with three guitars. The band comments on the new single:
“The music is more melody-oriented than before, among the kick-ass attitude. Since the last release we have got two new members, meaning we have three guitarists right now, so writing and producing needed some extra brainstorming. The message is about positivity, regarding mankind, that a light might shine at the end of the tunnel. We ended up with a very anthem vibe chorus on this one, which makes this a killer track.”

I know a few of these bands from Kerava and thought my HeadBangers would find this interesting.ย  ย This town is in the running for the capital of metal.ย  There are roughly 36,000 people living in this town.ย  There are 20 metal bands.ย  Click the link below for all the bands and check them out.

“Freakshow”

My Thoughts:

All my HeadBangers know I have a thing for Death Metal, but add in some Thrash to spice it up and I’m a happy MetalHead.ย  I know, not to mention the great growl vocals, which is always what I listen for in my bands.ย  There’s nothing better then deep, dark growl vocals.ย  ย Here’s something interesting for you HeadBangers, it’s a quote from a merchant that visited Denmark and made a comment on our growl vocals:

Growled vocals may have been a part of Viking music. In the 10th century, Arab-Spanish Sefardi Jewish merchantย Abraham ben Jacobย visited Denmark and commented on the local music as follows: “Never before I have heard uglier songs than those of the Vikings inย Slesvig. The growling sound coming from their throats reminds me of dogs howling, only more untamed.”

Well hell I quess he didn’t like the best sound in the world lmao.ย  I may have to do a whole blog on just growl vocals.ย  There are so many different kinds it blows my mind.ย  Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

My HeadBangers:

I’m happy to introduce Nathalie Astrada the new voice of Carmilla.ย  ย I was fortunate to be able to bring you this exclusive interview I had with Nathalie.ย  Read on HeadBangersย  you will be pleasantly surprised.

Sandy:ย  It’s great to finally meet the new voice of Carmilla.ย  Congradulations!!ย  I have a few questions that will help my HeadBangers and followers of Carmilla get to know you.ย  First offย  how does it feel to be the new voice of Carmilla?ย  And what do you feel you are bringing to the band??

Nathalie:ย  ย I have a mixture of emotions, I feel proud, happy, grateful, and with a little fear I have to confess.ย ย

It is the best project where I have belonged and it is a dream for me, I mean a great European band with a Latin frontwoman, that was not possible for me…until today.

I have felt very good chemistry by all of them.ย  They are talented, neat, responsible and inspire alot of confidence so it is very easy to work with them.ย  It’s like a new family for me, I’m very excited and promise to give my best.

***************

Sandy:ย  ย How long have you been singing metal music and what kinds have you sang??

Nathalie:ย  ย I have been singing metal for about 4 years when I understood how to handle the technique of growl.ย  At that time I decided to sing death metal, thrash metal and groove metal among others.ย  However, I have been singing lyric and melodic for more than 10 years which allowed me to make other styles like symphonic metal, heavy metal, gothic metal among others.

***************

Sandy:ย  ย What was it that drew you to metal music and how has that shaped your life??

Nathalie:ย  ย Since adolescence I listen and I feel identified by the metal music.ย  I was always attraced to the strength of melodies, distortions and lyrics.ย  It accompanied me in difficult situations of my life and helped me get ahead, I think it’s a very powerful style of music.

***************

Sandy:ย  ย Are there any particular bands that influenced you toward the metal genre??

Nathalie:ย  ย Of course, there are so many..ย  Today I can say that the bands that drove me to do this style with Carmilla was in principle The Agonist, when I first heard ALiss White Gluss blow my head and set my goal to study to achieve something similar.ย  Jinjer is another important band.ย  Tatiana Shymayluk is another great reference for me and I admire her alot.ย  Arch Enemy was the first band in which I heard that a woman uld make growls (I must haae been 14 years old)ย  I was impressed and loved her.

But also influenced by Nightwish, Epica, After Forever, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Kittie, In This Moment, Otep, Pantera, Slipknot, System Of A Down, Rammstein, Korn, Lamb of God, and so much more.

***************

Sandy:ย  ย Is there anything you do to keep your voice in shape??

Nathalie:ย  ย Yes, of course, I sing every day and every time I need to practice it’s several hours.ย  ย If I’m rehearsing or doing a show I’m always vocalizing.ย  I drink alot or water and drink honey.ย  I also jog often to exercies my lungs and chest box.

***************

Sandy:ย  ย What do you do in your off time, any hobbies, etc.??ย  ย

Nathalie:ย  ย I love to pay violin, I like to study classical pieces.ย  I also play piano, guitar and drums in a more amateur way.ย  I dedicate a lot of time to music, I enjoy it a lot.ย  ย I like to go jogging from time to time and do contemporary dance.ย  I am a seamstress so I like to make my changing room in my spare time too and I spend a lot of time with my pets.

***************

Sandy:ย  ย Do you have anything you would like to add to help the fans get to know you better??

Nathalie:ย  ย I just want to say that I feel very grateful for the warm welcome they hae given me on social networks, it is incredible for me and I assure you not to disappoint them in all the long road we have to go with Carmilla.

I will let the music speak for itself and I hope to see you on our future tours.

Here’s 2 songs for you letting you know what is coming:

These were sent to me so just click on the link to see them, just do it……

I love this song and the video, listen and let it sink in, really great.

Let’s meet the band:

Now Camilla is complete with the edition of Nathalie and new drummer Felix Forsberg (See top picture).ย  I cannot wait to hear and hopefully see them on tour.

Hรฅkan ร…lander – Guitar

Daniel Karlsson – Guitar

Felix Bjรถrklund – Bass

Nathalie Astrada – Vocals

Felix Forsberg – Drums

Here’s an update Bio they sent me last night:

Carmilla was founded by Hรฅkan ร…lander, Daniel Karsson and Daniel Trabold in 2016.ย  The same year they start to record their first song, I Am The Danger.

2017 Oksana Blohm Hedlund join the band and the first single was uploaded at Spotify. The following year Felix Bjรถrklund join the band after release the Devils Feast album on digital platforms. The band also released 2 videos 1 with Felix and one with a temporary bass player Mathias Nรถjd.

ย 2018 Daniel decided to leave the band to spend more time with family since his job was intensive at that time. Oksanas man Dennis Blohm Hedlund was the new drummer and with this setting they released the Deflector album.

October 2019 the band decide to go separate ways with Oksana and Dennis since they canโ€™t agree about the next step for bands development.ย  Felix Forsberg agrees to be the new drummer over the recording of the new album. Felix is a talented drummer that we believe will have a huge impact on the Carmilla sound. At the same time Nathalie Astrada joins the band as the new vocalist. Nathalie is an extremely talent singer thats work hard every day and we are so proud to continue the journey through the next album with her.ย  A single with Nathalie and Felix will be released Novmber 29, 2019 and the next album is planned to Q1 2020.

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers where do I begin with this band.ย  Over the last month or so they have had their share of ups and downs, but with Felix their new drummer and Nathalie their new vocalist, I see only ups coming their way.ย  ย In my metal opinion the changes made with the two new members make this band better than before.ย  Sometimes a change is for the better and you can deffinetly see and hear it.ย  I have been working with these guys for weeks now and they have busted their asses to get everything together for me so I could bring it to you.ย  ย I love the enthusiasium all the members have, and their great sound and look.ย  Come on like Nathalie said how often do you see a Latina frontwoman with a Swedish band?ย  And this works it really does.ย  If you haven’t heard them before you must check them out, they have the fire my HeadBangers.ย  Carmilla is a testament to all bands and people that face challenges.ย  They stuck to it and have made it through the fire.

Week 58 – Ashen Crown

Your help is appreciated

https://paypal.me/pools/c/8grRi0PWRk

My HeadBangers, welcome from West Midlands, UK, the dark and brutal metal band:ย  ASHEN CROWN
“Unbroken Faith”
This is their Demo from 2017, gives me chills HeadBangers

Let’s meet the band:

Phil – Bassย  ย  ย Mike – Drumsย  ย  Jay – Lead Guitarย  ย Ste – Rhythm Guitarย  ย Kieran – Vocal

Here’s some Bio on the band taken from their site:

Formed in late 2016, Ashen Crown are a Midlands based Metal band with a style that draws influence from many of Metalโ€™s sub-genres. Most notable influences to the Ashen Crown sound are; Bolt Thrower, At the Gates, Benediction, Pantera, Sylosis, Gojira, Slayer, Obituary and early 90โ€™s Sepultura.

With a Strong set of material, the band took to stage for their successful live debut early March 2017. Two weeks later the band began their Wolverhampton, Metal to the Masses campaign, progressing to and winning the Grand – Final in late May 2017. Ashen Crown then delivered a hugely successful major-festival-debut, laying waste to a packed-out New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival 2017, thereby cementing them in the ranks of the Bloodstock Alumni. Gaining a reputation for an aggressive, energetic live show and earning respect from peers and promoters, the band have since gone on to guest at regional M2tM events, support the likes of King Parrot, Memoriam and Obituary… not to mention a string of very successful headline shows. This has no doubt helped secure slots on prestigious UK festivals such as Hammerfest, Uprising, HRH Metal Meltdown, Manor-Fest and Amplified. Delivering hard hitting tracks, filled with raw energy, the band certainly pride themselves on getting the pit well and truly moving wherever they play!

After working with Fat Angel Management at Bloodstock 2017, Ashen Crown teamed up with them once again in October 2018 for bookings an PR. This has proven to be a successful move which has helped push them on to greater things within the metal community. However, this wasnโ€™t the only change for the band around this time, as founding member / Drummer Chris McGrath, stepped down from the AC drum throne, plunging the band into a cloud of uncertainty. After advertising for a replacement, one candidate stood out head and shoulders above the rest… Mike Ellis (former As The Sky Burned / Whispering Vault) was a perfect fit and after an impressive audition secured the AC drum throne.

Ashen Crownโ€™s initial releases have been well received earning Radio / Podcast play across the UK, Europe and USA, with the debut single / video “Fall of Thine Eyes” being released to great reception in March 2018. However, a full release was long overdue. With a full album pretty much ready to go, Ashen Crown have been extremely busy throughout 2019 recording and finalising their debut album – “Obsolescence” (due for release 1/11/2019). Recorded with Neil Hudson of Krysthla at Initiate Audio and Media, the new album signifies the start of a new chapter for Ashen Crown..

“Fall of Thine Eyes”

My thoughts:
Here’s a little something I found out about their home town.ย  West Midlands is also know for it’s universities, colleges, and cultural institutions, but it is best known for its manufacturers, ranging from the luxurious Rover cars from Solihull, to the everday chocolate and cocoa from Cadbury’s model workers’ settlement at Bournville.ย  Well I for one will never listen to Ashen Crown again and not think of chocolate and I love chocolate.ย  ย They’re a relatively new band but their sound and those growl vocals are on point as far as I’m concerned.ย  Check out their FaceBook page and you will see that these guys work their asses off one gig to the next and have alot already coming up in 2020.ย  Which is proof that if you love doing something and stick to it through all ups and downs it will pay off in the end.ย  It does require sacrifice and hard work, some people don’t understand that and may not be able to deal with it, but that is the price you pay my HeadBangers.ย ย
Well that’s it for this week my HeadBangers.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Until then don’t stand to close to the fire it you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 57 – FEJD

Welcome my HeadBangers, from Trollhattan, Sweden:ย  ย  FEJD

Gotta put a song up first off so you will all get the feel of these Viking Warriors.

“GRYNING”

(Which in Swedish means “Dawn”, hopefully my translator is right.)

I don’t need to understand everything they are saying to know that I love this band.ย  Their videos tell the story, just watch and let the music flow HeadBangers.

Let’s meet the band:

Patrik Rimmerfors – Lead Vocals, Bouzouki, Swedish Bagpipe, Jew’s Harp, Hurdy-Gurdie, Cow Antler, Willow-pipe and recorder etc.

Niklas Rimmerfors – Vocals and Moraharpa
Per-Owe Solvelius- Electric Guitar

Lennart Specht – Guitars and Keyboard

Thomas Antonsson – Bass

Esko Salow – Drums

As you can see this is not the typical Metal Band, there are so many instruments being played here.ย  Check out their bio, it explains what their vision is:

FEJD formed in 2001 through a fusion of the folk music duo Rimmerfors and a couple of members from the metal band Pathos. Rimmerfors played folk music with medieval undertones, performing on contemporary instruments. Together with their childhood friends of Pathos, they transformed into a refined band with the best of both worlds – the weight of heavy metal in symbiosis with the typical melodic language and sadness of the Nordic folk music.

The brothers interest in Swedish medieval folk music started back in 1995, commenced by music studying and the feeling of wanting to explore new musical ground and try something new. The brothers musical background, as well as their band mates, has its roots in heavy metal music. Inspiration is also drawn from like-minded bands such as Garmarna and Hedningarna.

In addition to Fejd, the brothers Rimmerfors still performs every now and then as the acoustic duo Rimmerfors.ย  Check out their FaceBook page for more gigs.ย  They also will appearย at Wacken Winter Nights 2020, on February 14, yes Valentines Day.

“Hร„XFร„RD”

“Hร„RJAREN”

My Thoughts:

Simply put, I love this band.ย  I have listened to quite a few folk bands, as there are alot in this part of the world.ย  However, none have grabbed me like ‘FEJD”, I know, no it’s not just the flowing hair my HeadBangers lmao, but I’m not complainingย about that for sure.ย  ย This music to put it plainly, calms the savage beast that we MetalHeads are at times.ย  I believe that we all need that, whether you can understand the words or not, there’s something in this sound, the instruments, the singing that calls me to another day and time when life was all about survival and passion.ย  Now I need a horn of mead my HeadBangers, and a fire to sit by as I listen to stories of the past in the cold night.ย  What better way to pass the night or weekend for that matter.

“Storm”

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Until then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 56 – Forever Still

Welcome my HeadBangers, from Copenhagen, Denmark the one and only:

FOREVER STILL

“Breathe In Colours”

I always get the chills listening to Maja sing.ย  She has a very strong but haunting voice, and the words to the songs hit me everytime.

Ok now my HeadBangers it’s been a year, Forever Still was the first band on this blog.ย  I remember being at work and hearing the song below, listen to it, I will be back when it’s over.

“Awake the Fire”

A large part of the credit, if you want to call it that, for me doing this blog goes to Forever Still and Maja.ย  This song just so hit home with me, and it gave me that push to say Perkele, I am doing this and so I did and here we are one year later.ย  Let’s take a look at what’s been happening with Forever Still in that one year.

Forever Still
Female Metal Voices Tour 2019

It does not get better than this my HeadBangers.ย  Also, The Spell European Tour 2019.ย  Forever Still is busier than ever, check their FaceBook Page for more gigs and dates.

Just a brief bio on the start of the band:

They were formed in 2010, Copenhagen. Three years later, their first EP was released โ€œBreaking Freeโ€œ. 2014 they released their next EP โ€žScarsโ€œ.ย Everything that frontwoman Maja Shining and Multi-instrumentalist Mikkel Haastrup achieved until now has been produced by the band members themselves.ย Over years they organized their tours, took photos for their covers and produced everything on their own. But songs are made with Flemming Rasmussen who formerly worked as a producer for Metallica.

After releasing their EP โ€œSave meโ€ in 2015 they toured in the UK. After that they released their first album โ€œTied downโ€. In August 2016 they signed a worldwide contract with Nuclear Blast. Tied down was then re-released by their new label. It was critically acclaimed and the band became even more popular. In October and November 2016 they were touring through Europe with the Italian metal band Lacuna Coil.

Let’s meet the band:

Maja Shining
Mikkel Haastrup
Rune Frisch
Inuuteq Kleemann

Some interesting bio on the new album taken from their FB site:

Megacorporations owning our governments, the world on the verge of ecological collapse and humanity fleeing into cyberspace to escape the horrors of the real world โ€“ is this 2019?

When Philip K. Dick wrote what would later become Blade Runner, no one would have believed that the dystopian cyberpunk future he imagined 2019 to be, would be so similar to the world we live in todayโ€ฆ

This realisation is what sparked the idea for the new album from FOREVER STILL โ€“ ยปBreathe In Coloursยซ, which was released via Nuclear Blast on March 29th 2019.
With their sophomore full-length album, the band has evolved their songwriting skills even further and didnโ€™t want to produce a carbon copy of its predecessor ยปTied Downยซ, released in 2016. Instead, the new album drifts both into more epic moments like on the captivating opener โ€˜Rewindโ€™ or โ€˜Embrace The Tideโ€™, while frontwoman Maja Shining also delivers her heaviest screams to date on the groovy โ€˜Surviveโ€™ or their emotional declaration of war, โ€˜Fightโ€™. And for the first time, the songwriting duo of singer Maja and multi-instrumentalist Mikkel Haastrup have decided to make the album a more collaborative effort and therefore brought their long time live drummer, Rune Frisch, into the studio with them to record the drums โ€“ a big step for the two young musicians who handled everything on their own on the previous record, from music videos to band photos, the album production and even concert booking.

For ยปBreathe In Coloursยซ, the band decided to work with a futuristic and dystopian theme, as Maja explains: โ€œInstead of looking in, we turned our focus to the world and saw it in a state of change. It somehow reminded us of the dystopian cyberpunk future, weโ€™d seen in books and movies when we were kids, where megacorporations own our governments, the world is on the verge of ecological collapse and humanity is fleeing into cyberspace building walls around ourselves to escape the horrors of the real world. This, and the fact that two of the most influential cyberpunk works of all time, Blade Runner and Akira, are set in 2019, is what gave us the initial idea for the album and its more electronic and raw sound.โ€

On their social media, FOREVER STILL have already revealed some initial info on the new album hidden in binary code language, and the explanation behind the cover artwork of ยปBreathe In Coloursยซ โ€“ still designed by Maja herself โ€“ is just as fascinating:
โ€œAt first glance the cover art appears quite dark and gloomy, but in reality itโ€™s bursting with colour. Just like the real world โ€“ sometimes we just have to look really closely to actually see it. The many numbers behind me represent all the colours in the world in binary code โ€“ more commonly known as โ€˜computer languageโ€™ and at the same time itโ€™s a reference to the world becoming so digital and people escaping into their computers to find colours instead of living in the real world and finding them there.โ€

After accomplishing two extensive European tours alongside LACUNA COIL and CHILDREN OF BODOM, the band was able to refine both their live performance and songwriting skills and to experiment with a heavier direction and the incorporation of post-rock moments, while the lyrical themes centre mostly around inner and outer wars, the need to overcome struggles and self-doubts and growing stronger through that experience โ€“ a topic that many fans can relate to and that have always helped them connect to the music ever since the band released their first singles in 2014. In the same empathic vein, the album title was inspired by an early memory that Maja kept with her from her teenage years:

โ€œThe album title was born from an experience, I had as a young teenager, where I started wearing all black and a friend of my motherโ€™s suggested that I wear more colours. I told her that itโ€™s just an aesthetic preference and she replied that it was okay โ€œas long as I remembered to keep the colours on the insideโ€. At that time I thought, it was the stupidest thing, Iโ€™d ever heard, since wearing all black doesnโ€™t automatically mean youโ€™re sad inside. Despite thinking that, her words stuck with me and I was able to have it make sense in a new way much later in life. For this album itโ€™s an affirmation that even though the world sometimes seems cold and grey, there is still colour and kindness to be found, but in order to see it, we first have to find the colours on the insideโ€

After sweat, blood and tears and the surprising use of a theremin, the result of FOREVER STILLโ€™s efforts to break through the numbing grey, is a surprisingly diversified and mature album that breathes fresh air โ€“ and colours โ€“ into the bland rock scene.

“Once Upon A Nightmare”

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers, as I said “Forever Still”, was part of the beginning of the blog and always will be.ย  Maja and the bands music gave me the push to realise I could do whatever I wanted in this life.ย  You have to be prepared to push yourself, to go with your feelings and not look back, but, you also have to own it in the end.ย  Life is full of turns and twists, go with it or play it safe and stay in the box.ย  That has never been me, no cookie cutter HeadBanger here my people.ย  And as some of my HeadBangers know, if it hadn’t been for the blog I would never have met my MetalMan and love of my life and moved 4,800 miles to start a new life in Finland, center of the metal universe.ย  This is what I mean when I say sometimes you just have to go with it and see where fate takes you, it might surprise you.ย  Metal runs in my veinsย and that will never change.ย  So to all my HeadBangers and MetalHeads thank you for reading and the support.ย  To all the bands I can never thank all of you enough for the time you have given me and the great music.ย  You are all part of my family, I love all of you.

And that ends my walk through the memory of year one.ย  Wait till 2020, I have a lotย of new things planned and can’t wait to start.ย  Until then join me next week for another band and another song.ย  And, yeah you know what’s coming, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….

8meโ€ in 2015 they toured in the UK. After that they released their first album โ€œTied downโ€. In August 2016 they signed a worldwide contract with Nuclear Blast. Tiedown was then re-released by their new label. It was critically acclaimed and the band became even more popular. In October and November 2016 they were touring through Europe with the Italian metal band Lacunaย

69Eyes – Helsinki

We arrived in Helsinki,  Friday night,  November 1, at the Tavastia Klub for one show before leaving for Europe.

My MetalMan and my shirt lmao. Thank you Kulta,  I have wanted to see these guys since I was in the States.  Waiting patiently,  sold out crowd.

69Eyes was celebrating 30 years as the best Goth n Roll Band anywhere.

This MetalHead had a total fan girl moment when seeing these guys.  This venue I love even sold out you’re so close to the band you feel like you could reach out and touch them. I love the small venues.

Damn HeadBangers I have said a million times I’m not a professional at videoing yet give me time PERKELE lmao.  I know it’s sideways, just push play it will straighten out.

Jyrki 69 – Vocals
Bazie – Guitar
Timo-Timo – Guitar
Archzie – Bass
Jussi 69 – Drums

Of course I love everyone in the band.  But let me tell you about the one and only, best damn drummer on the planet in any band, rock or metal or otherwise.  Jussi Perkele.  When I first started listening to 69Eyes, I was take by, of course,  Jyrki and that smooth sexy dark voice of his.  BUT, the more I listened and watched their videos the more I noticed this man on the drums.  Paska, he never stopped, he can go from one song to the next without missing a beat and I believe he is the pure energy that drives this band.  He’s unstoppable, I am truly in aware of this man and not just because he is a mass of solid muscle.  He is a total professional and anyone who is into music knows drummers NEVER stop.  I believe they have the most physical job in a band.  Watch some videos and see what you think.  There are drummers  and then there are DRUMMERS.  Jussi happens to be the DRUMMER.  Ok I’m done and yes I am his number one fan.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this special edition, join me this Friday for Week 56.. A look back at EverStill, the first band ever to be on the blog.  Until then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 55 – Krigere Wolf

My HeadBangers, welcome from Catania, Sicily:  Krigere Wolf

6

“Vision of Death”

Well my HeadBangers here we go with some Italian black/death metal and those deep growl vocals that I love so well.

First I want to look at their bio (taken from their site), it’s basically a 2 man band with occasionally a drummer and backup, it’s very interesting and I like how they have it broken their bio down by year.  It gives us a clearer picture of what happened from day one.

2007: Rick Costantino starts the project as a one man band for some months, while in 2009 the moniker is changed to KRIGERE WOLF.

Former KRIGERE WOLF line-up consists of Rick Costantino as bassist/singer and Joe Cantagallo as guitarist. Lately drummer Frozen will join the band in order to release the debut full โ€œThe Ancient Culture to Killโ€, printed and distributed in 2012 via ARMED GOD RECORDS (Bologna).

2013: Line-up change: Salvatore Martino Testa (drums) and Francesco Bauso (guitar) join the band to release the self-produced single โ€œVictory of Satanโ€™s Warriorsโ€.

2014:  KRIGERE WOLF signs with South Korean underground label FALLEN ANGELS PRODUCTIONS, being one of the first bands in its roster. S. M. Testa leaves the band for personal reasons and Riccardo Grechi takes his place. With him on drums and the contribution of F. Bauso on guitars KRIGERE WOLF releases its second full length โ€œSacrifice to Valaskjร lfโ€ on the 1st of February, 2014. In the meanwhile Rick C. gets in touch with Magnus D. Andersson, Marduk bassist and sound engineer at Endarker Studio (Sweden), who will take care of the mastering of the album.

At the end of 2014, Fallen Angel Productions includes KRIGERE WOLF in a split album alongside three other bands: Waldschrat (Austria), Notre Amertume (France) e Antiquus Scriptum (Portugal). The two tracks contained in โ€œThe Beginning of the Endโ€ are written and played by Rick C. as a one man band. One year later, Rick meets Salvatore Leonardi (guitar), Dario Petralia (drums) and Gabriele Catania, talented extreme vocalist, assigning him the role behind the microphone.

2015: The band works on a second single called โ€œSolar Stormsโ€, released exclusively in digital version.

2016: With the same line-up KRIGERE WOLF enter the studio to record โ€œInfinite Cosmic Evocationโ€, very dark and primordial work, approaching to a renovated well-finished sound. M. Devo Andersson is chosen one more time to mix and master the album. โ€œInfinite Cosmic Evocationโ€ is a way more introspective record than the previous one, composed of a strong sinister energy.

2018: Fallen Angels Productions will release E.C.A “Extermination Cult Alliance”, split album with japanese band Sabbat.

2019: Out the MCD “Eternal Holocaust” released by “Lower Silesian Stronghold” (Poland).

Let’s meet the band:

Rick Costantino โ€“ Drums, bass, lyrics

  • Salvo Leonardi โ€“ Guitars
  • Salvatore Martino Testa – Drums (Live Sessions)

“Sacrifice to Valaskjalf”

I absolutely am loving Rick’s growl vocals.  When I listen to a band that has deep, dark, growl vocals, I like to listen to songs as old and new as possible.  Try it, listen to the voice from one year to the next, from one song to the next.  This way you can tell a fricking great vocalist, and Rick is one of them.  Thanks Rick for the growls.

I also like to put at least 3 songs on here so my HeadBangers can get the feel of the band.  I had one comment saying I shouldn’t put so many on here but, this is how I bring my music to my MetalHeads, if you don’t like it whatever…

“Unholy Magical Throne”

I’m putting the guys contact info on here, check them out and give them a follow:

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers here’s a two man band, with great growl vocals, and oh let me just say these two have swag, yeah they do, look at them a couple more badasses to add to the Metal List.  One thing I’ve always wondered about the area of Black Death Metal is where do they come up with these songs.  I know some bands get them from personal experiences, but I think some go a lot deeper than that.  I’ve talked to some bands that just follow the prevailing gloom and doom of Death Metal songs.  I’m good at reading people, (it can be a bad thing but, it has helped me in life alot).  Then I run across a band that I can sense there is a lot more too.  It’s in their eyes, that deep, far away look and you know there is more behind those eyes, the way they pronounce every word in the song, the way they stand and walk.  There’s more to a song than words, it’s how it’s delivered and how the vocalist feels it inside.  How the band acts with each other.  Pay attention my HeadBangers to your favorite band when they perform.  Watch them, feel the vibrations and see what you come up with.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.  Join me next week for another band and another song.  Until then, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn………

Week 54 – Aephanemer

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  My HeadBangers welcome from Toulouse, France – AEPHANEMER ย  ย  ย  ย  ย

8

“What you are, I was. What I am, you will be.”
-Memento Mori gravestone inscription.

Powerful words and inspiration for both our music and lives.
Mortality can be an exceptional driving force once acknowledged and channeled into a positiveย response….

Aephanemer is a merge of the two French words “ephemere” (ephermeral), and “Fanee” (folded).ย  These two words are related to the autumn season.ย  Their Debut album “Memento Mori” was released on September 16th!!

“Memento Mori”

I am in my zone when I listened to these guys.ย ย

Hell Headbangers, here we go another band that is not only BADASSย but deep, gotta love it seriously.

“Unstoppable”

Holy Paska my HeadBangers, here we go with those growl vocals.ย  My head is exploding.

Let’s meet the band:

Marion Bascoul – Vocals & Rhythmย Guitar
Lucie Woaye Hune – Bass
Martin Hamiche – Lead Guitar
Mickaรซl Bonnevialle – Drums
“Bloodline”
OKย let’s see some bio on this band, taken from their site:
Founded in 2014, Aephanemer broke into the Metal scene with their debut EP “Know Thyself”, followed by their first album “Memento Mori”, in 2016 and their single “Path of the Wolf” in 2017.
Integrating musical elements from Scandinavianย Melodic Death Metal, Slavic traditional music and classical symphonies, Aephanemer brought some freshness to the modern metal scene and generated significant expectation from their newlyย formed and quickly growing fan base.
After two years of songwriting and live performances, including a show at Wacken Open Air 2018. Also they were at Hellfestย 2018 “Voice of Hell” contest (Finalist).ย  Aephanemer is ready to release its sophomore album “Prokopton” on October 25, 2019.ย ย
I asked the band if they had a few words for the fans, and they said: (no I am not making this up lmfao)
“Thank you for reading 10 Degrees of Metal and hope to see you soon in a show!!”
My thoughts:
Well my HeadBangers what do you think?ย  Yeah I thought so, pure fking fire.ย  What great music and the best videos, check out more on U tube.ย  That voice OMFG, Marion kills me with those growl vocals.ย  ย This band is always busy, take a look at their FB page and the list of gigs goes on and on.ย  Not to mention the album is releasing TODAY lol “Prokopton”.ย  Check it out.ย  I have to say this is one of my top 10 female fronted bands.ย  Anyone that can blast the growl vocals and blast that music out, come on…
Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Until then, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…………..

For my Bestest Buddie Diane – Artist and Picture Taker

Something a little different tonight.ย  I have to share my picture with all my HeadBangers.ย  My Bestest Buddie, Diane at @DianesDigitals on twitter, in Canada, we’ve been friends for years, did this painting and well I sort of had to have it lmao.ย  Look at it, it has everything a Viking Metal Head needs.ย  The Ravens. the wolf, the night, blood red sky and even a melodic death tree not to mention that moon.ย  Let me break this painting down for you, of course it speaks to me and you know the rest….

IMG_8435 (Edited) (2)

  • The Ravens….ย  ย I have always loved Ravens.ย  Even when I was a kid I had a pull towards them.ย  When I came from the US to Finland, the Ravens were more beautiful then ever.ย  The US Raven is all black, see below, the Finnish Raven omg a beautiful gray with black wings.

image_b833c967-4606-4ca6-9403-17eea13e0ced.img_8273

The US Raven that I grew up with.ย  And do not call it a crow at least to me.

7025

My Finnish Raven, I have one that visits me on the balcony.ย  This summer he came 2-3 times a day.ย  I fricking love them.ย  Ravens are awesome.ย  You know they are considered messengers.ย  The Metal Man doesn’t want me getting to friendly, but I can’t help it, they speak to me.

*They have been both feared and respected birds in many cultures. In ancientย  times Finland ravens were powerful animals connected to witchcraft and often shamans had ravens as their pets.

  • The Wolf…..ย  There’s is nothing to say about my Spirit Animal other than I have a connection with them and always will.ย  They are a sign of Strength and Protection.ย  To kill or harm one is beyond words.ย  These beautiful, dark, strong, protectors who howl their lonely message to the moon give me the chills.ย  They are part of my soul.ย  I will defend them to the end.

What can one say about a tree, well…..

  • Theย treeย ย is aย symbolย of a fresh start onย life, positive energy, good health and a bright future. As aย symbolย of immortality. Aย treeย grows old, yet it bears seeds that contain its very essence and in this way, theย treeย becomes immortal

And that full moon…..

  • It is a goddess symbol that represents the Maiden, Mother and Crone as the waxing,ย fullย and waningย moons. It is also a symbol of the spiritual aspects of femininity, such as intuition, psychic abilities, creativity and wisdom.ย

And the red sky…..

  • In ancient times, Red Skies in the evening were not considered as a sign of war.ย  In Germanic mythology, red evening skies were caused by a male giant acting in the air. He is a foe to the benedicting spirits of light above: Day and night are fighting the battle in which Red Skies (the giant) leads the darkness up across the sky obstructing the sunrays` way to earth. The battle ends with the triumph of the night ghosts.

There you have it my HeadBangers.ย  My breakdown as an art critic, which I am so not.ย  But this painting just called to me and here we are.ย  I feel that it fits in with my metal music and it just all flows for me.ย  I hope you like it and no it is not for sale lol.ย  Diane has a lot of great pics and paintings contact her at twitter if you want and check out her pics on Flickr atย  DianesDigitals, her worked has been used by magazines and books. You definitely have to check her out.ย  Well HeadBangers thanks and hope you enoyed this and the painting. ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย

Week 53 – Infected Rain

Welcome from Chisinau, Moldova, yeah you heard me:ย  Infected Rain

My HeadBangers, rarely do I find a band with a female front woman, that just blows me away, well trust me guys, this woman, Elena “Lena Scissorhands” Cataraga, is just on fire.ย  Listen to this:ย

“Passerby”

Lena wants to tell you about her voice, this is taken from their website:

โ€œMe and my voice.

Hi! My name is Lena. I was born in Moldova (Eastern Europe) on November 22nd, 1986. I fell in love with alternative music when I was 13. But my real โ€œcrushโ€ was for metal when I was 14. The heavy guitar riffs and brutal vocals always fascinated me. I felt like metal music could wake up feelings that Iโ€™ve never felt before. Two other musicians (Vidick and Dj Kapa) and I started the band Infected Rain in 2008. It was a cool and fun project from the beginning. I never sang before in any other band but I was always tempted to try because I had a lot of friends that were musicians. I never knew if I could do that until the boys asked me to try. I loved it from the first second but I knew that I had to learn a lot.

So, after a few months I started my private vocal lessons with my amazing teacher Tatiana Robertovna. She had to start from the beginning because I never studied music in my life before. With her, I learned how to breathe, how to feel the music and how to sing. Infected Rain took priority in my life right away. Writing lyrics, creating music and playing shows started to be my reason to live. My life started to change so much. I had a job I always loved that I had been doing for years but now any job for me just became a way for me to invest in the band. Singing and playing shows became my own type of drug. So I decided to dedicate myself completely to the music and our fans. I started to exercise and experiment a lot with my voice.

Sometimes all of this would leave me voiceless for days. Losing my voice was physically painful and mentally frustrating. We started to have more and more shows. Sometimes we had to play in bad venues with bad monitors or no monitors at all. Trying too hard to sing and scream in these conditions would ruin my voice. Sometimes I could even taste blood in my mouth. That would cause sleepless nights, bad nightmares, headaches and frustration. I knew I needed to change something. I knew there was a way. This is how I discovered Melissa Cross and her DVDs. I studied her methods for a while but nothing helped better than a real lesson with her. In 2013 I had the opportunity to have my first lesson with Melissa in New York City. That day changed my life forever. It was more than just a lesson, it was like a therapy that every singer needs. Now I can deliver all of my emotions on the stage without hurting myself, no matter what monitors I have.

I write the lyrics for Infected Rain. All of my lyrics are based on my own experiences, fears and disappointments in life. Writing helps me survive in this world and singing helps me live for real. Reality is frustrating sometimes, music has become my escape. I want to help as many people as I can with my music. I want to touch people somewhere deep inside, try to end their fears and give them that escape that they always search for. Music saved my life, but when I started to sing is when my life acquired color.ย  I want to share that with you!โ€

DAMN my HeadBangers, is this woman awesome or what.ย  You all know I love a band with a story and history.ย  When you listen to a band you never know what their story is, their struggle, their Demons.ย  When they tell us their story it makes us never forget that we are all metal family, we all struggle, we all can survive and succeed, so get off your ass and go for it.

I love this next song, just out this week.

“Black Gold”

Let’s meet the band:

Lena – Vocals
Vova – Bass
Seriy – Guitar
Vidick – Guitar
Eugene – Drums

Now for some bio, taken from their site:

Infected Rain are far from the overly manufactured metal many of us have grown accustomed to.ย  Their style is an energetic blend of some of the best modern metal styles.

The band was formed in 2008 and made their first appearance on stage on August 3, 2008, performing in a concert dedicated to Slayer. At the end of the same month Infected Rain recorded their first demo CD, which consisted of three songs: With Me, Parasite and No Idols. Over the next 2 years the band appeared in several concerts in Moldova, Romania and the Ukraine. Infected Rain took 1st place at the Big Up! Urban Fest in 2009 and continued the stream of its successful performances at the Forest Kap in 2010 and 2011.

In the summer of 2009 the band released their EP, which included six songs: Judgmental Trap, Panika, No More, Escape, Go Away and Homeless. Their first music video was for the song Judgmental Trap and was shot in winter of the following year. November 25, 2011 was marked by the release of the bandโ€™s first album, entitled Asylum. After that the band went on a tour in Romania to support the album. In January 2012 the band released its second music video for the song At the Bottom of the Bottle and shortly after that performed at the Metal Special Fest as a headliner. In June, the band played at OST fest 2012 in Bucharest on the same stage with Dimmu Borgir and Motley Crue.ย  Shortly after that they released a new music video for the song Me Against You, collaborating with Moldova Extreme Moto Cross. Then on March 8th, a music video for the single Stop Waiting came out. In the autumn of 2013 the band toured Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Bulgaria as their first big tour. May 15th of 2014 the band released the second album called โ€œEmbrace Eternityโ€. Later, in September and October was their big European tour in which they visited 12 countries. January of 2015 was marked with the release of 2 more music videos for the album โ€œEmbrace Eternityโ€. At the same time the band never stopped concurring new countries and headlining big festivals in Europe. 2016 started with the release of their new music video for the single Serendipity that gave a start to a new, heavier era for Infected Rain. Serendipity, Mold and Orphan soul music videos were released in 2017 and are part of the third album called โ€œ86โ€ that was released on April 20th 2017. The next year was dedicated to touring and composing of new music. 2018 was a beautiful and intense year for IR. A year of exposure and interesting work and collaboration proposals. In fact 2019 started right away with big announcements. Announcements of upcoming tours around the world and new music. After being independent for 10 years the band signed a record deal with The Austrian label Napalm records on February 13th and announced it on the Valentineโ€™s day with the big release of the new music video for the song Passerby. Passerby is the first single from the upcoming album called Endorphin that is going to see the light in 2019.

The band consists of five members: two guitars, female vocal, bass and drums, the combination of all members music preferences always leaves room for development and creation of a new style.

“The Earth Mantra”

Lena is a bad ass!!

My thoughts:

Well my HeadBangers, PERKELE, this metal world we live in never ceases to amaze the PASKA out of me.ย  This band from Moldova, now do you understand why I do this.ย  This planet is full of such great bands, so much metal for our ears, you never know where you will find it, and if you look closely at this blog of mine you will see it is everywhere. ย  I’ll keep bringing it to you one week at a time.ย  This past week was 10DegreesOfMetal’s one year.ย  When I started I remember saying how will I ever find enough bands to do one a week, well hell, I haven’t even started my HeadBangers.ย  Wait for this new year, it’s going to be bigger and better.ย  Thanks to all of you that have taken the time to leave comments, it is greatly appreciated. ย

Well HeadBangers that’s it for this week, join me next week for another band and another song,ย  until then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….

October 4 – Finntroll – Helsinki, Finland

My HeadBangers, come with me to the twilight, the in-between world, where for a time I thought I was being transported to the Lord of the Rings world, which is not such a bad place to be.

ย  The last leaves have fallen in the old world of Europe. Trees are stripped to wooden skeletons, Winter is at its coldest. The old magic is fading awayโ€ฆ

(Videos were shot live by me so don’t expect UTUBE here HeadBangers, just click on them and let them run.)

I love these guys, I love all my bands, however, as you all know I love my growl vocals, and everyone knows Amorphis has always been my number one but, I have lost it to Finntroll.ย  My metal man has been warned, I mean he is the one who ordered the tickets lmfao.ย  When did I lose it???? Well, when Verth was on his knees on stage, pulling that last growl vocal out of his stomach I was lost to Finntroll forever.ย  There’s that sense of awe and fucking admiration for that, when you see a band like this in a smaller venue it does something to you that a festival cannot do.

Breathe BringerOfFire omfg, I didn’t sleep for 2 damn days cause of these guys, ask metal man he knows.ย  OK let’s meet this band and my new number one growl vocalist:

7

Here he is, Verth, growl vocals and leather.ย  Kill me!!!

Vreth โ€“ Vocals
Routa โ€“ Guitars
Skrymer โ€“ Guitars
Trollhorn โ€“ Keyboards, Guitar
Virta โ€“ Keyboards
Tundra โ€“ Bass
Mรถrkร– โ€“ Drums

Now some bio taken from their site:

It is a troubled tale that has been told many times beforeโ€ฆ

Anno 1997: during a night of alcoholic carnage in Finland Teemu “Somnium” Raimoranta (guitar) and Jan “Katla” Jรคmsen (vocals) conceived of a band that fused the darkness and grandeur of black metal with the traditional Finnish hoedown-music. The resultant sound was FINNTROLL. The namesake came from an old Finnish legend where Swedish priests coming to Finland had an encounter with a wild-looking man who killed most of their party. The survivors came back bearing the tale of the FINNTROLL.

Anno 1998: A year later Skrymer, Tundra, Trollhorn and the mighty Beast Dominator joined the band that soon became the biggest name in the rising Folk/Pagan Metal scene โ€“ even if they never aimed for sitting at the head of that table.
FINNTROLL was soon to overcome the sort of obstacles that would have left most bands defeated and bleeding.

Founding member Katla had to leave the band after the release of the second album “Jaktens Tid” (2001) because of severe throat problems. Shortly after, the other founding member Somnium died after tragically falling from a bridge. His legacy was continued by Routa, while Katla was replaced by Wilska who already left in 2006. Ultimately, it was with the final comrade in arms to join Vreth, on vocals, with whom the band reached their biggest successes including a legendary co-headline show at Wacken Open Air 2006 โ€“ well documented on the last album’s “Ur Jordens Djup” bonus DVD.

“Nifelvind” was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios (Apocalyptica, Amorphis, Ensiferum, etc.) in Helsinki, Finland and mastered by Mika Jussila (Children Of Bodom, Sonata Arctica, Him, etc.) at Finnvox Studios. The album cover artwork was done again by the band’s own guitarist Skrymer.

“Nifelvind” remains true to the FINTROLL mythos and ethos: According to Vreth the new album “is the most advanced and mature FINNTROLL-album to date, with musical themes ranging from powerful death metal riffs to dark soundtracks, from pounding black metal to groovy 80’s pop-music. All this is accompanied by our trademark sound, lots of never-before-heard instruments in the metal-scene, folklore and legends that make it overall the most versatile album we have created so far.โ€

The lyrics are still written by the founding member Katla in Swedish. Both Katla and Vreth are part of the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland. “All cultures have similarities in their myths and folklore. Tales of bitter dead walking again, sagas of good and evil and songs of divine ascension..โ€ states Katla. โ€œThat in some form probably date back to the beginning of speech and song, are a fascinating lore that maybe defines our humanity but also our feelings of loss concerning our contacts to nature and the bestiality that lies within every human being. This album is a celebration of those myths, some new some ageless. Some true, some complete nonsense. That is the nature of folklore. Under every root and stone lays a story heard but untold.”

And here we have the MOSH PIT, yeah I was up in the balcony.

Sorry about the Videos, I’m not a professional, and when there are people all around you getting into the music, it’s not that easy to just stand there.

Well my HeadBangers I have a ton more videos but being the owner of a f++++++g phone I HATE, thats all I can post sorry.ย  But hey there is UTUBE LMAO.ย  They are fire is all I can say.ย  I will see them whenever I can which maybe hard since they tour all over Europe.ย  But they are so worth the wait pointy ears and all……

Week 51 – Ligature Marks

Welcome my HeadBangers, from Portland, Oregon: ย  Ligature Marks

NOUN:
Ligature marks are those marks made by an item of cord, rope, silk or some such material that has been used for the purposes of strangulation.

Well OK, is this like 50 Shades or something a little darker?????ย  I guess we are going to find out HeadBangers.

“Talisman”

Ok HeadBangers what do you think of that!!!!ย  Let’s meet these guys.

Ligature Marks is an American metal band from Portland, Oregon formed in 2017. The lineup is made from of some of the Pacific Northwestโ€™s most hailed underground bands, vocalist Benjamin Charles(SYX, Twenty Shades of Red) , guitarist Karl Whinnery (Proven, Nova Eyes, Vintersea), guitarist Josh Whinnery (Proven), drummer Kyle Baltus (36 Crazyfists, Falling Closer, SYX) and bassist Dave Keller (SYX, Falling Closer).

“Fight Like Hell”

Holy Fking Shit HeadBangers, Benjamin Charles, vocals, WTF, you know I love growl vocals but this guy takes it to a whole different level.ย  Up in your face like a sledge hammer to the head damnnn.

Let’s take a look at their Bio, taken from their site:

At first glance the bands musical style could likely fall under the blanket statement of Metalcore. Dig a little deeper and youโ€™ll uncover depths of influences ranging from progressive metal to hardcore and from punk to straight forward heavy metal. The pallet of guitar styles the Whinnery brothers have in their arsenal lay down brutal and melodic textures, equally haunting and beautiful as it is ruthless and destructive. Backed by the unforgivingly savage rhythm section of Dave Keller and Kyle Baltus, the perfect amount pocket and chaos, groove is everything. The vocals of frontman Benjamin Charles are raw and intelligent. Memorable lyrics delivered aggressively and without apology, equally tormented as they are hopeful. Boy you can say that again.

Ligature Marks stands ready to make a name for themselves. With the release of their first EP โ€œSet Oceans on Fireโ€ looming on the horizon and the bands music video for their first single โ€œFire & Flood (directed and produced by Karl Whinnery) set to debut this spring, the band is sure to live up their name with a lasting impression. Maybe not strangled to death but you should probably have a safe word established ahead of time.

“Fire and Flood”

My Thoughts:ย  Well hell let me catch my breath, Perkele. ย  I think you may need a couple safe words after this band scrambles your gray matter.ย  Talk about fast, hard, and brutual, I love it.ย  A word to bands that may want to use these guys as an opening band.ย  You better be able to bring some fire to the stage, this band will be a hard act to follow.ย  I’ve seen this before, the warming up of the crowd act turns into the one you want to keep playing.ย  When your metal heats up and want to keep it right there not stop, just a tip to you big bands.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song. ย  Until then, yeah you know what’s coming, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn!!!!!!!

Week 50 – AEolian

My HeadBangers welcome, from Palma de Mallorca – Spain:ย  AEolian

IMG-8291

Melodic Death Metal, Black Metal and Folk elements for raising awareness about the environment and nature conservation.

“Going to Extinction”

Ok my HeadBangers are you hearing this message??ย  Take a look at the NEWS, the rainforrest is being destroyed on a daily basis.ย  Time to wake up!!!

Before I go any further let’s meet these Metal Heads that care about the planet we live on.

Vocals – Daniel Perez
Guitars – Raรบl Morรกn
Guitars – Gabi Escalas
Bass – Leoben Conoy
Drums – Alberto Barrientos

“My Stripes in Sadness” – Live at Es Gremi ย  3-11-2018

I have to say something about the vocals here, PERKELE, Daniel Perez, does he have the growl vocals or what.ย  When I watch live videos on UTube, they usually don’t sound this good, but Daniel has got this down. ย

Let’s get to the BIO on these guys, provided by them, no FAKE NEWS HERE my HeadBangers:

We are a metal band from Mallorca which calls for the need to protect the environment through our lyrics. Our main musical influence is melodic death metal, though our songs also contain elements from black, death thrash and folk.

It all started during 2016 as a personal project. Through the compositional process, the project gradually turned into a band. Today, Aeolian is formed by musicians coming from bands such as Helevorn, Goreinhaled, Desmodus, Inferitvm, Strangled, Battlehorn and Decomposed Torso.

Towards the end of 2017, we began the recording of our first studio album entitled โ€˜Silent Witnessโ€™. This work was produced and mixed by Miquel A. Riutort โ€˜Megaโ€™ (The Unity, Cryptosy, The Agonist, Hirax) in the โ€˜Psychosomatic Recording Studioโ€™ and mastered by Tomi Toivonen in the โ€˜Raivio Sound Finlandโ€™. โ€˜Silent Witnessโ€™ has been acclaimed by the specialized press all over the world.

So far, we have performed to present the album on 22nd September in Tunnel Rock Pub venue, on the third edition of the Extreme Division Festival on 3rd November, in which we shared stage with Crisix, Ereb Altor, Cannibal Grandpa and VxPxOxAxAxWxAxMxC and at the presentation of the new album of Helevorn where we shared stage with Saturnus on 23rd February.ย

Check out their Facebook page for more pics and info, in the meantime they have this gig coming up.

“Return of the Wolf King”

I fricking love this song, those growl vocals just kill me.ย  And he keeps going without missing a beat, and the music is just what we HeadBangers love.ย  It’s hard, fast, and has a message so listen to it.

My thoughts, well my HeadBangers, if you have seen the news lately you already know that the Amazon is being destroyed on a daily basis.ย  This week, as I hope you all know, a teenager from Sweden @GretaThunberg spoke or rather ripped and kicked ass at the Climate Action Summit at the UN.ย  I believe that through music and people like Greta, humans can be inspired to be better caretakers of this planet.ย  Take control and do what is right for all its inhabitants.ย  The timing of her speech and Aeolian being on the blog I believe was fate.ย  It doesn’t get much louder than that HeadBangers.ย  SO let’s all do our part so that the next generation of MetalHeads can still hear what great Metal Music is about.ย  A big thank you to Raul for getting me info and pics, I always love it when a band is excited about what they do and not to mention a great message and great music.ย  I know we will be hearing more from these guys.ย  I’ll update as they go.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Yeah you know what’s coming, in the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Ok Headbangers BIO time:

First off I want to thank these guys for translating their bio for me.ย  I’m taking Finnish classes right now and if I had to translate one more thing my head will explode.ย  So thank you guys I really appreciate it, not to mention it’s very interesting and that always grabs us Headbangers.

SMORRAH was formed in March 2017. Located in Gelsenkirchen, Germany the hometown of the mighty thrash metal legends Sodom.

SMORRAH is a mix of fast, aggressive, atmospheric and head crushing heavy metal genres of our time.ย  All band members have been friends for over 15 years and they are known for other German metal Bands like Ragefield, Firestorm and Killing Culture.

The bands name is about “Smorra(h)”.ย  A legend of a demon in the Ruhr area, who sits on peoples chests while the victims are in a kind of sleep paralysis. This Mythos is mostly known in families of coal miners.ย  Stories about “Smorra(h)” are also known as “Mare”, “Nightmare”, “Nachtmahr”, “Mara” etc. in other regions and countries.

Lyric themes are about demons, inner struggles, death, horror.ย  Welcome to your Nightmare is a Song about the “SMORRAH” demon.

“Killing Spree”ย  Live 2018

“Killing Spree” is about a child-murdering child from a city near Gelsenkirchen. This incident occurred in a city near Gelsenkirchen and was a big thing in German media. (Seriously look this up really interesting).

Also we are a part of a huge underground scene in the Ruhr area North Rhine Westphalia West Germany.

We organize many shows with other Bands.ย  Check out Gelsen Metal Alliance on Facebook.ย  I did and it’s another metal family as are we all.ย  That’s what binds us.

In October, the 12th to be exact,ย  we will play a benefit concert for people in Togo.
It is called “Pogo fรผr Togo Festival”.ย  This means something like “Mosh for Togo”.ย  It will take place at Emscherdamm Venue in Oberhausen, Germany.ย  Check these guys out at Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Bandcamp.

My thoughts, well I know I’m ordering me a patch when I’m done, and I don’t put just any patch on my vest.ย  I fricking love these guys.ย  There’s not one thing about this band or the guys I do not like. ย  I am drawn to bands with history and a story, not to mention the growl vocals, you guys know that.ย  When a band takes the time to come up with a name that also comes with a great story, how can you not love that.ย  Also each song has a story, yeah whatever, I know all songs have a story, maybe so, maybe not.ย  I’ve done alot of bands here and not all songs have a story trust me, I don’t make this shit up.ย  That’s why I do what I do, bring the metal to my Headbangers and you decide for yourself, remember what speaks to me maynot speak to you, but at least listen.ย  This planet is filled with the most interesting bands, and that means people too.ย  Scroll down my list, they’re from everywhere and the music is what makes us family.ย  Don’t ever forget that….

Well my Headbangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…

Week 48 – Beyond The Styx

My HeadBangers welcome from Tours, France: ย  Beyond The Styx

Whoever we are, everyone is doomed to live in spite of himself, on one side of the Styx…

“Walls – Hardcore World”

HeadBangers if that doesn’t wake you up and get your attention I really don’t know WTH to tell you.ย  Talk about some up in your face growl vocals I love it, everything about this song is on point as far as I’m concerned. ย  Yeah it is, and how about this one.

“Danse Macabre”

Perfect for a Friday night HeadBangers.ย  Listen to this next one HOLY FKING SHIT, this is taking my growl vocals to another level I LOVE IT. ย  Talk about the range Emile has in that voice and the music RAW, Dark and Heavy just like we like it.

“SanctuarINK”

Now for some BIO taken from their site:

Racing the European roads since 2011, BTSTYX is inspired by a dark and violent musical universe.ย  At the crossroads between Hardcore, Metal and Thrash crossover, the French quintet has already unleashed the crowds on more than 120 gigs, alongside renowned bands such as:
Nasty, Malevolence, Tagada Jones, Sand or Words of Concrete…

following the release of his new studio effort : โ€œSTIIGMAโ€ (recorded at DOME Studio & arranged by Nick Jett: Terror, Backtrack, Lionheart…), BTSTYX expresses a clear, deep and incisive desire to open minds to the misdeeds of the most decadent modern society.

“Is our history an eternal beginning ?โ€
Thatโ€™s the challenge of BTSTYX: embody the flapping of a butterfly wing.
with all respect and humility, as ambitious as it may be…
Participate in the hurricane of renewal !
Hit the world without counting the distance that separates the gig from tonight to the next,
support each band and each local scene so that persists and resists: hardcore music,
gather the crowds to defend the respect to the difference
and invite everyone to question the drift of the values of our modern society.
So that our reality today doesnโ€™t become our new hell of tomorrow.
Armed with an hardened line-up, BTSTYX drives the point by highlighting with “STIIGMA” a torrent of live energy of the most rabid!

That’s a tall order my HeadBangers, but I have a feeling they’ll do it without missing a beat…

Let’s meet the band:

My thoughts, well my brain is fried right now from this listening to this band, but in a very good way.ย  There’s nothing more that I love than good growl vocals you all know that, but all growl vocals are different. ย  It’s what the listener hears and I can’t tell you what you hear or anybody else, that’s what being human is about, we are all different. ย  HOWEVER,ย  I can tell you that there is something that draws us HeadBangers and MetalHeads to these bands, so there is something there that connects us together, and isn’t it the best.ย  It’s like fire, to hot to hold but you are still drawn to it…….

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song. ย  Remember, yeah you know, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn… ย  ย ย

We have been working hard on our second full length CD.ย  We are recording it in our own studio and hoping for a Spring 2020 release.ย  Also, we will be doing a video for our newest single “Carpe Noctum” which should be done by late December.

I for one am looking forward to that video, as well as the new CD.ย  ย Keep it up guys.

I’ll keep you HeadBangers posted as the news comes in, in the meantime take a look at their info below.

This week my HeadBangers welcome “Brackish Tide”ย

“Lie Down and Die”

Here’s some Bio on the band:

Brackish Tide, an all original heavy metal band, was formed on the banks of the murky Pocomoke River in Somerset County, MD in the spring of 2014. After writing, rehearsing and recording for about a year they released their debut CD, “The View From Below” , in September 2015. After a line up change they released a single, “Carpe Noctum”, in October 2017. Currently playing shows and working on their second full length CD!

Our Influences:

Brackish Tide’s influences cover a wide span of very early metal, rock, prog and doom to the newest in metal subgenres that have taken hold in recent years.

This is one of my favorites:

“Carpe Noctum”

More information about the band on teor.de/epk

This band is different than my usual, but there is something about them that always takes me to them.ย  I first did TEOR back in January 12, Week 13.ย  Big shout out to the guys and RO.ย  They always let me know when something new is on the horizon and I get to hear it before you HeadBangers do.ย  They work non stop and are constantly coming up with new material.ย  Everyone check them out, they are worth it.ย  Love you guys for always thinking of me, it is very appreciated.

Fans who want to pre-listen should sign up for our insider at teor.de/insider. they will receive a link then.

Week 46 – Kryptos

My HeadBangers welcome KRYPTOS

3

This week my HeadBangers is a band that has totally taken me by surprise.ย  I had never heard of them before and just stumbled across them on U-tube.ย  I was in for a big surprise.ย  Listen to this:

“Afterburner”

Here’s some bio, there’s not alot out here on them but let’s see what we do know:

The band began in 1998 and are from Bangalore, India.ย  Raging, traditional heavy metal blazing with the spirit and attitude of the glorious 80s. Metal the way it was always meant to be, but they are also considered by some as Heavy/Thrash.ย  That’s up to the listener to decide, to me it’s fast, hard, heavy, and lots of hair so I say heavy metal and that works for me.ย  Also taking some of their lyrical themes from: Mythology, Occult, Sci-Fi, Paranormal.

And for you lovers of all things subterranean , and you know who you are, get this:

Kryptos derives their name from the Latin word – โ€˜Cruptusโ€™, which relates to Catacombs or Burial Chambers beneath Churches.

The band has a few words for their fans:

Just want to thank everyone for the awesome response that we’ve got from the latest release, we’re really honored.ย  Can’t wait to get on tour once again and meet all our fans across the world.ย  Cheers!

Let’s meet the band:

Nolan Lewis – Guitars/Vocals
Rohit Chaturvedi – Lead Guitars
Ganesh K. – Bass

“One Shot To Kill”ย

Kryptos became the first Indian heavy metal band to play a full set at Wacken Open Air in 2017.

“Mach Speed Running”

Can’t help myself, just one more.

“Full Throttle”

My thoughts,ย  I am constantly amazed at where Iย  find good metal music on this planet. ย  It’s everywhere, and the more I look the more I find, and I bring it to you HeadBangers.ย  Kryptos was a surprise for me, I really love their music, ask the metal man he was listening to me play it.ย  The guys were always very nice and whenever I had a question they answered within hours.ย  That impresses me, when a band will take the time to talk to a metal blogger they don’t know and trust that what I say will come across correctly, that’s the bond we Metal Heads have, we are familia.ย  A big thank you to the guys, and I’m trying to get you here to Finland.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime remember, like I would let you forget, don’t stand to close to the fire ifย  you can’t handle the burn…….

Ok HeadBangers, this night the band didn’t have a drummer, but the show must go on.ย  Mad Respect for these guys I am not kidding.ย  This bands motto should be “Not Today”.

ALBUM OUT NOW!!ย  http://www.spydervolt.comย  Check out our videos and give us a like! We are looking for gigs in Texas.

“Windows”

ย I am quiet taken with this trio from Texas.ย  They keep going through any and all obstacles, they have SISU, and I don’t use that term lightly it is tattooed on my wrist, and if you follow the blog and me you know what that means, if not google it.ย  Some Bands are bigger than life, some just starting out, and some not giving up till they make it.ย  I know these guys will make it because they are putting in the work.ย  Give them a listen, check out their FB page and web site.ย  Remember all music has metal in it.ย  As I receive any updates I will let you know. ย

Week 44 – Descent of the Archangel

My HeadBangers welcome tonight something different, they are called:

2

Listen to this ย  “Canaanites’ Curse”

Let’s meet the Band:

1

Ok this is just their head gear lol below is a photo painted by a professional artist of the group, they my HeadBangers are out for that different look and I think they are succeeding.

3

Descent of the Archangel is:

Mixer Mike – Clean Vocals, Bass, Guitar
Prevail – Unclean Vocals, Guitar
X-47 – Drums, Percussion, Keyboards

“Attack Attack!”

Now let’s have some bio on this band:

Descent of the Archangel was formed in 2013. Their music has been characterized as a fusion of Underground Metalcore, Alternative Metal, Nu Metal, Deathcore, Thrash Metal, and Djent. Their latest album is based on the ultimate sense of betrayal, and the war in the current spiritual age. The great Archangel fights alongside those who defend truth. The Angel of Death is coming to bring about the end of pain and chaos. Those who listen to Descent of the Archangel beware, your life will never be the same.

“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.” – Oscar Wilde

My HeadBangers I agree with that quote 110 percent.

That being said, my thoughts, you all know I love growl vocals.ย  To me that is a big part of the metal experience and of course the hair, can’t help myself guys.ย  Anyway, I also love bands that push the limit and aren’t afraid to boldly go where other fear to tread.ย  Descent of the Archangel does exactly this, with a cross of a deep guttral out pouring that grabs you by the throat, I don’t know how they do that sound but it is a head slammer.ย  I’m looking forward to new music and will update you HeadBangers when it’s out.ย  In the meantime check them out on FB, Twitter, and Utube.

Well my Headbangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime, remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….

Week 43 – Dark Messiah

My HeadBangers welcome Dark Messiah

Stephen

“No Soul To Sell”

The thing I like best about this song, besides the music is Stephen makes such a convincing Soul Collector.

This band had its beginnings in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in the summer of 2015.ย  They are considered a Groove/Thrash Metal Band. ย

Let’s meet these dark ones with good hair, and I mean that as a compliment.

– Stephen Chubaty: Vocals, Lyrics
– Jonathan Hayward: Guitar
– Lagg Walker: Bass
– Jamie Otto: Drums

Here’s some Bio on the band, some from the their site, and some from here and there:

The band was formed by guitarist Jonathan Hayward in the summer of 2015.ย  They came together to turn back the clocks and rediscover the roots of Heavy Metal.ย  Then came the drummer, a bassist and a rhythm guitarist, and they started to craft their sound that made them a band.ย  The drummer recommended Stephen Chubaty for vocalist and main lyricist.ย  He became the next member.

The band jumped onto the scene quickly. A very established bar that had been around about as long as rock n roll itself “The Zoo” announced it was closing. Jonathan and Stephen had never played the iconic venue before so the band set out to try and book a gig. Even though the group did not have a name yet and had barely been off the ground for a month, they decided to push forward.

With the gig fast approaching the need for a name was getting frustrating. In a conversation with a friend Jonathan was asked what kind of band he was trying to help put together. “A classic metal inspired band, but one different than anyone else. a band that would bring back what once was.” He said. His friend responded with “Kinda like a chosen band.” as a joke. “Yeah but an evil one. Like a….dark messiah.” the name was solidified and the gig was officially booked.ย

In preparation for this goal the band worked hard together to make the show happen. Conflict and personality clashes led to the band’s first bassist to quit. They found a replacement to join the band a mere 12 days before the show. With original parts written and personalized by each member Dark Messiah took the stage.

In the end it was deemed a success. The band would go on to play more shows throughout the next couple of months but also had some more lineup changes. Lawrence Reimer was brought in to play rhythm guitar as the first member had to follow a different path. Lawrence’s drive helped push the band to it’s next level. Perfectly balancing the already established sound. The band was shook to the core when it was forced to use the services of a fill in drummer due to unforeseen circumstances.

Even with all these issues arising the band never cancelled a show and never missed a beat. They eventually recruited the naturally talented Robert Schau on drums. A few months later the band was forced to once again replace a bassist right in the midst of recording. Lagg Walker joined the band and helped finish the E.P. The release debuted at #4 on Reverbnation for metal in Winnipeg and the next day made it to #2 and eventually reached #1 holding that spot for 5 months and counting. In February of 2017 Robert left the band to pursue other styles of music and metal. The band recruited drummer Ole Larson who also played in a Winnipeg band called Dome.

Soon after Ole joined, the band released a music video for their song “No Soul To Sell” and announced Their Western Canadian “Converting The Masses” tour simultaneously.ย  A few weeks before the tour Lawrence Reimer left the band due to personal reasons. They continued on with the tour as a 4 piece.ย  In November, 2017, Ole quit the band to focus on his musicianship. They recruited Jamie Otto to jump in as their new full time drummer.

Well my HeadBangers as we all well know there are always the personal differences that tear bands apart, life sometimes gets in the way.ย  But in the end by keeping up the hard work it always comes together.ย  This band had been through everything and is still banging it out.ย  Stick to it guys.

“Eliminate The Enemy”

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Until then remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn……

4

Week 42 – Arcsin

First let me apologize for being late, I hate being late, electricity and internet were the culprits but I’m sorry to the band and my headbangers, love you guys.

Please welcome my HeadBangers and MetalHeads: Arcsin

“Nowhere to Hide”

Here’s some bio on the guys, taken from their website:

In 2014, three founding members of a band came together to reignite their passion for music and reformulate the group they loved, they called it Arcsin. This popular Miami-based progressive metal band now has five multi-talented musicians that have melded together a sound that includes even synthesizers and strings to accompany its searing, shredded riffs.

Some of us grew up together, some even competed against each other in venues, and it started over a decade ago,” explains front man Emilio Martinez.
Arcsin was then known as Paralysys and consisted of Emilio Martinez and brothers Chris Hayes and Justin Hayes. Justin chimes in, “We existed for seven years as a band called Paralysys, but eventually we had to move on.” โ€œToday we’re a whole new creative entity with the addition of Alberto Carballo and Mike Pignataro.” Emilio Martinez offers.

The band opened for notable national acts such as death metal legends Carcass, power metal legends Hammerfall, thrash metal legends Flotsam & Jetsam and guitar virtuoso Felix Martin. Arcsin has not only come full circle, they’ve flipped full-triangle, and they’ve got seemingly endless angles to come at you.

Week 41 – METHANE METAL

The definition of Methane:

Methane ( US : / หˆ m ษ› ฮธ eษช n / or UK : / หˆ m iห ฮธ eษช n / ) is a chemical compound with the chemical formula CH 4 (one atom of carbon and four atoms of hydrogen ). It is a group-14 hydride and the simplest alkane, and is the main constituent of natural gas. The relative abundance of methane on Earth makes it an attractive fuel, although capturing and storing it poses challenges due to its gaseous state under normal conditions for temperature and pressure.

flame fire water reflection

There it is my HeadBangers, Methane, it can burn anywhere at anytime, on water and ice, you all know I love my fire, but Methane, you can’t escape it, it’s attractive but hard to contain so  here we go into some Southern Thrash Metal from a Band known as METHANE.

“Pray For Death”

Let’s meet the guys:

Olle Ekman Drums (2017-present)

Tim Scott
Vocals, Bass (2012-present)

Dylan Campbell

Jimi Mรคsterbo
Guitars (2012-present)

“Blood Sweat and Beer”

Now for a little bio:

This Band claims two homes, Borlรคnge, Sweden / Midland Park, New Jersey, United States. Which is a good combination if you ask me.  The following bio was taken from their site:

Methane formed in the fall of 2012 by American brothers, living in Sweden, Tim Scott (former bassist of Revenant and HatePlow) and Dylan Campbell together with Timโ€™s long time friend Jimi Masterbo and drummer Andreas Strom. After gaining underground recognition for their previous EP releases, 2014โ€™s โ€˜Southern Metalโ€™, and 2015โ€™s โ€˜Spit On Your Graveโ€™, Methane was signed in 2016 by Sonyโ€™s Dark Star Records. The band has also appeared on the soundtrack for Scottish mini series Metalhedz (S03E02 and S03E03) as well as the first ever E-Novel with music โ€œHow an Atomic Fart Saved The Worldโ€.

February of 2017 saw Methane release its debut full length album โ€œThe Devilโ€™s Ownโ€ on Sony/Dark Star Records which has been met by the press with great reviews. Drawing influence from Slayer, LOG, and Pantera, Methane has created a unique sound that is strong and unapologetic. The band has been touring in Europe supporting the album and steadily gaining a strong and loyal fan base in the European Metal scene with a reputation as a high powered, energetic live band. To date, Methane has played over 60 shows in 6 countries on 2 continents. Highlights include U.S. tour, headlining Finnish Tour, Rage of Armageddon Festival (NYC,USA) Metal Inferno Festival (Sweden), Heavy Metal Heart Festival (Helsinki) and opening for international touring bands such as Warbringer, Nervosa, Whiplash and The Haunted. Most recently, Methane has been joined by a new drummer, Olle Ekman, former singer of Deals Death and Amaranthe (live). With a string of tour dates already confirmed to start in Winter of 2018, Methane is planning a new assault on Europe.

Well as you can see my Headbangers these guys are all over the place.

“Scars and Bars”

I chatted  with Tim who told me Methane has something new coming out and it will be announced at the end of August, lots of things happening.  So stay tuned my HeadBangers to see what’s in store.

Well my HeadBangers that’s it for this week.  Join me next week for another band and another song.  In the meantime, remember fire is free it can happen anytime and anywhere with the right conditions so becareful my HeadBangers and, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 40 – Bloodred Hourglass

8

7

My HeadBangers welcome one of Finland’s Hottest bands with great growl vocals Bloodred Hourglass, aka BRHG.ย  Let’s hear a song, I’m sure most of you have been hearing them already but, they’re just perkele good. ย

“VALKYRIE”

This song is 3 years old, but it’s still one of my favorites.

Now let’s meet the guys:

Names from left to right on bottom right pic:

Jarkko Hyvรถnen

Jose Moilanen

Jarkko Koukonen

Antti Nenonen

Lauri Silvonen

“Six Feet Savior”

I love this song too.ย  Well there’s really no song that I do not like of BRHG.ย  Listen to those growl vocals, paska, you know I’m all about the growl vocals, and listen to the instruments, it all melds together with a hard, rough, slam it up in your face sound.ย  Yes and I love it and so do you.ย  Who doesn’t like some melodic death metal, yeah I didn’t think so my headbangers.

ย  Now a little bio on this guys:

BRHG is a melodic death/thrash metal band from Mikkeli, Finland.ย  Some say death some say thrash, so you will have to judge for yourself.ย  This was taken off their web site, “Inspired mainly by metal sound, but never disregarding the influences from various other musical genres.”ย  So like I said it’s up to the individual to decide.ย  To me I’ll go with melodic death metal.

They are known for their great live performances.ย  The bandโ€™s themes are focused on the individualโ€™s experience of everyday life, as well as environmental issues.

The first full-length album “Lifebound” was released in 2012, in 2015 their second album “Where the Oceans Burn” was released.ย  In January 2017,ย  BRHG finished the recordings of their third albumย  “Heal” which was released in Finland in October 2017, claiming #13 on the official Finnish album chart.ย  Their new album “Godsend” is out now, so get it.ย

“The Unfinished Story”

Like I said I cannot find one song I do not like, even though I’m sitting here with a cold and coughing my ass off, I still hear this music speak to me.

“Ask and You Shall Receive”

GD listen to Jarkko K’s growl vocals, I kid you not I could listen to him for hours, but, also listen to the words and what these guys are saying.ย  I know it’s hard to concentrate on the words when you have all this metal in your face, so listen to it 3 or 4 times till its crawling all over you, then simmer down and listen to the words.ย  There’s alot going on with these guys and I look forward to hopefully meeting them someday, as they are not to far away.ย  In the meantime they have some upcoming gigs and I’ve listed them below, you can get more details on their FACEBOOK page.ย  Try to catch them, you’ll love it.

August 2 -3ย  SaariHelvetti ย  ย  Viikinsaari ย  Tampere, Finland

August 8ย  Bloodstock Open ย  Burton upon Trent, United Kingdom

Well my Headbangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song, in the meantime, yeah you know it’s coming, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn……..

OK silence, no talking, listen to this first.

“Golden Snake”

Growl vocals Headbangers, you know there’s nothing in this world that I loveย  more than my growl vocals, well that and fire, but you all know that.ย  To me growl vocals is what really makes a metal band, and not everyone can do them, before you all start havin a fit remember what speaks to me may not speak to you.ย  I’m all about my bands, every member is important, every instrument, but I just happen to love growl vocals, it’s a special voice that can pull it off, we all like different things my Headbangers, that’s what makes us a metal family.ย  This is pretty damn interesting just looking around the net on Atarka and I found this:

1

Atarka is one of the five elder dragons of Tarkir. She is a robust beast with antlers, horns and fur. She breathes green flames. The ultimate predator, Atarka spends her days, and most of her nights, hunting and feasting.

Perkele could it possibly be, paska Dragons and Fire.ย  I couldn’t ask for much more than that.ย  I love it.

OK let’s meet these guys with the supreme growl vocals and great sound:

These are some great pics guys:

Jamie Smith – Vocals
Daniel K.P. McCarthy – Guitar, Vocals
Adam Bayliss – Bass Guitar
Alex Dutton – Guitar
Phil Sheldon – Drums

Here’s a live clip of “Tollund Man”ย

This is just a sneak peak into their debut album, I can’t even say the name, but it will be released in late 2019.ย

Here’s a little back ground on the Tollund Man:

I’m telling you these guy impress the paska out of me with the meaning behind their songs.ย  Really I want to know who is coming up with all these great ideas over there.ย  Guys, tell me who it is or is it all of you??ย  Well my HeadBangers that’s all the info I can give out on this up and coming band.ย  I cannot wait for their debut album to come out and will update you all as soon as I hear anything.ย  In the meantime join me next week for another band and another song.ย  And remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 38 – Silver Bullet Official

First off I want to say before I even start, this is a bad ass bunch of Headbangers.

“Lady of Lies”

Sorry my Headbangers but I had to get that out of my system, I’m feeling the burn with this group.ย  Let’s look at some bio on these guys:

Silver Bulletโ€™s inception dates back to the year 2008 when the band was founded under the name of Dirge Eternal and it was around this time that the quintet started carving its very own niche by basing their entire lyrics on the gloriously gory genre of horror movies. The first demos already served as ominous harbingers of the gloriousness that was to come, before former Dreamtale vocalist Nils Nordling and ex Turisas bass player Hannes Horma completed the pack and helped forging the full-length debut โ€œScreamworksโ€ that was released in mid-2016. The albumโ€™s guiding theme โ€“ classic horror movies โ€“ was masterfully transferred to the stage, with actors serving as zombie nurses, possessed little girls and even as a chainsaw-wielding lunatic, making Silver Bulletโ€™s notoriously entertaining live shows an audiovisual experience in a class of its own. After an extensive and highly successful stretch of touring, the Finns will return with their second offering of powerfully orchestrated, riff-infused Symphonic Power Metal in 2019. Though the backdrop of horror flicks was left behind, โ€œMooncultโ€ nevertheless serves as a real spine-chiller, offering a hauntingly thrilling plot set in the vastnesses of Scotland that is loosely based on a true story. Having teamed up with up-and-coming metal powerhouse Reaper Entertainment Europe, new shores of eerie excellence are just a knifeโ€™s throw away. Brace yourselves to be ripped apart by silver bullets of purest heavy metal!

“The Witches Hammer”

Let’s meet the band:

Nils Nordling – Vocals
Hannes Horma – Guitars
Henri Asikainen – Guitars
Ossi Elonen – Bass
Patrik Albrecht – Drums

“She Holds The Greatest Promise”

Well if that’s Symphonic Heavy Metal you can add me to the thumbs up list guys.ย  I love this band, I really do no bullshit here either, but you know what speaks to me may not speak to you, that’s how it goes.ย  Well Perkele, paska I’m putting one more on here just because I love it, sorry Headbangers……

“Tormentor”

I love the vocals, Nils really has a powerful voice and it mixes with the instrumentals perfectly, neither drowns the other out.ย  Close your eyes when you listen to music like this and let it take you places you’ve been or haven’t been yet.ย  These songs sound so good but, still have the edge we headbangers crave in our metal, and you know what I mean, if you don’t you’re not a true headbanger.ย  Silver Bullet is like slow, cool burning fire and you all know how I feel about my fire………..

6

That’s it for this week my Headbangers, join me next week for another band and another song. ย  Remember don’t stand to close to the fire it you can’t handle the burn………………

Week 37 – Hammer Down Hard

Hard Rock – Heavy Metal

53084631_2302492496699522_1489557394840092672_n

Well my Headbangers it’s time for a little Hammer Down Hard, let’s start with a song to get you all FIRED up.

“Bloodshot Eyes”

Here’s some bio directly from their management, thanks Nancy.

HAMMER DOWN HARD was formed by renowned hard rock drummer singer/songwriter Lonnie Hammer (Jack Russellโ€™s Great White, Every Motherโ€™s Nightmare, Black Oak Arkansas) in the Fall of 2017. The brainchild of Hammer, with assistance from manager Kim Allegrezza (The Allegrezza Agency), HAMMER DOWN HARD hand-picked some of the finest musicians in the hard rock and heavy metal music scene to join the ranks.

The debut album, Total Annihilation, presents all-star guest performances by members of Shinedown, Candlebox, Saliva, Great White, Black Oak Arkansas, Twelve Stones, Winger and Surrender The Fall. Total Annihilation debuted at #3 as the Most Added record on the Metal Contraband Chart and remained in the Heavy Top 40 for eight weeks. HAMMER DOWN HARD was voted Rockwired Magazine’s Artist of the Month for August 2018 by the fans only weeks after their debut and was selected as one of the Top 20 New Bands 2018. AXS exclusively premiered the โ€œTotal Annihilationโ€ music video January 3, 2019. โ€œTotal Annihilationโ€ AXS Video Premiere link: http://www.axs.com/136290

Lonnie Hammer branched out into new territory both musically and lyrically with HAMMER DOWN HARD, pushing deep into new creative realms. With honest songs, top notch lyrics, powerful vocals and shear rock fury you can feel the energy as well as the incredible enthusiasm this formidable band brings to the music world. Not only do they rock a crowd, they rule, conquer and certainly get everyone to stand up and take notice. The bandโ€™s very first gig was July 11, 2018 at RockFest 2018 in Cadott, WI., that night’s main stage lineup was HAMMER DOWN HARD, Autograph, Skid Row and Ace Frehley. Not bad for a first gig!

“Total Annihilation”

Pretty impressive wouldn’t you say, I haven’t found one song i didn’t like and I’ve listened to some more than once.ย  I love how it reminds me of the good old heavy rock.ย

“Killing Time”

See my Headbangers, this is why I love doing my blog.ย  Some bands you find are right in your own backyard, while others are across the planet.ย  Wherever you find your fire breathe it in and let it take you to places you’ve never been, that is if you can handle the burn……

7

That’s it for this week my Headbangers, join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Try to find your fire, it makes everything so much more, trust me I know.

Week 36 – Syth

My Headbangers welcome from Glasgow, Scotland the old school Metal Band:ย  Syth

32355_logo

I want to jump right into a song, I’ve listened to all of them so instead of the usual 3, I have to put 4 this week.ย  Yeah seriously these guys are that good, I love the way some of the songs start out sounding like they could be the opening music for Return of the King, Lord of the Rings.ย  But hey you know what I always say what speaks to me may not speak to you, but these guys do, they heat the blood my bangers.

I love this song: “The Liar’s Eyes”

Let’s meet the band:

32355_photo

Left to right: Allen, Barry, Niall, Mark

The idea of Syth was first formed in 1999, but it wasn’t until 2001 that the members got into a studio and played together.ย  As it is with a lot of bands there are professional and personal differences, and breakups eventually happen. ย

Syth reformed again in 2015, with former guitarist Alan Stares as bassist and Dave Bisset taking over as lead vocalist in 2016. A third album, comprised mostly of songs composed before the second split and intended as a final statement from the band, was recorded on and off from 2016 and finally released in December 2018.

Syth went through a few breakups but are now a cohesive unit and I was told they will be gigging again after one member recovers from surgery. I was happy to hear that because they are to good to split. In the mean time I have picked a few songs that I love.ย  Listen and I think you’ll agree there is fire here….

“Where Valkyries Cry”

“Defiance”

“Demons of the Kirk”

Well Headbangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song. ย  And as I always say don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….

Welcome to Finland

Welcome to Finland, Metal Capital of the Universe.ย

I’m in Finland for the Tuska Festival and to see my metal man, without him I would not have know about the great bands this part of the world has to offer.ย  I can’t name them all it would take weeks, but just a few Children of Bodom, 69 Eyes, Amorphis, Stam1na, see what I mean and that’s just my favs, there are so many more. I took a few pics and just wanted to share a look at the Baltic Sea.

Week 35 – Virtues

2From Brisbane, Australia, this is Virtues

Nathan Barker – Drums

Zeke Ferrington – Bass Guitar

Daniel Devitt – Guitar

Wade Felsch – Vocals

Alex Miller – Guitar

Virtues, formed in May 2018, is a five piece metalcore band from Brisbane, Australia. Combining a mixture of sounds ranging from punk to deathcore, Virtuesโ€™ sound is a fine balance between brutality and melody and provides something for every metal fan. All members have been in other bands ranging from punk to death metal.

Their debut single was #42 on The Factionโ€™s Hardest 100 Countdown in Australia

“When in Rome”

Their latest single “White Willow” was released in May 2019, here it is, gotta love these growl vocals.

As a relatively new band, even though they have all played with other bands, I feel that theirย  sound is as raw and savage as you would think the outback would be.ย  The music is hard and Wade’s growl vocals are some of the best I’ve heard, raw and savage,ย  you know I love my growl vocals.ย  I’m looking forward to posting more on this band as they move forward.ย  They have all that it takes to make it in the metal arena, just keep that fire……..

cropped-3.jpg

Well my Head Bangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song, and as I always say, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn.

Week 34 – Vovkulaka

VolK-of-Vovkulaka-w-girls-02

Get ready Head Bangers here comes some Dark Angry Evil Metal from the Ukraine, and I’m not holding back, their story alone would make a great movie.

Let’s start with a great song, love this: ย  “My Devil”

This Bio was written for all Head Bangers by the Supernatural Sage VolK.ย  It’s longer than the usual bio, but it’s so PERKELE interesting I couldn’t take any out:

There was an icy feeling in the studio that day as singer-drummer-songwriter VolK was recording. The leader of the morbidly mystical metal band Vovkulaka is also known as a supernatural sage. Upon careful investigation, he found he was channeling the ghost of a key maker that had died in the room adjoining the studio, thus, solving the mystery of a pile of keys left behind in the property. Welcome to one dark entry in an occult metal life.ย  We’re not Satanists-we’re a metal band-but I have a cred,” VolK says.ย  “I investigate haunted palces all over the world and invite the evil in.

With a tagline #painneversoundedsogood, a deep commitment to exploring paranormal activity, and a catalog of brutally catchy songs, Vovkulaka is adding an infectiously visceral injection of evil enlightenment to modern metal.ย

Ghost hunting informs Vovkulaka’s (Ukrainian for werewolf) lyrical content, and VolK (Russian for werewolf) shares his fascinating paranormal experiences via the band’s Facebook page. In addition to his connection to this other realm, VolK also explores personal hauntings such as caustic relationships, inner demons, and the negative voices we all hear in our head.

Vovkulaka’s darkly cathartic metal also conjures tribal spirituality, dubstep, goth, industrial, and a myriad of permeations of thrash and nu-metal. Other aesthetic signposts include the rhythmic onslaught of Slipknot, the engaging spectacle of Babymetal, and the crushing groove metal of artists like Korn, Pantera, and Rob Zombie.

Onstage, Vovkulaka is something of a twisted carnival with VolK as the ringleader, conjuring the chilling masked imagery of Pinhead from Hellraiser while being flanked by stunning dancers Naya G and JuleZ deeply attuned to his beastly rhythms. This profound connection evokes the ancient tribal history of the “the drummer and the dancer.” Joining the three is brutally gifted Ivan Manoloff on guitar. The quartet’s lush and gritty sound is filled out by triggers.

Vovkulaka first made a seismic impact with its debut single, “Glory to the Heroes,” featuring Keith Lynch on Guitar (Bill Ward Band, Ozzy Osbourne), is a modern metal anthem bursting with ear-candy musical motifs, a rousing chorus, and touches of nu-metal swagger. The song was dedicated to Ukrainian soldier Nadiya Savchenko (jailed in Russia but released in May 2016). “Glory to the Heroes” was gifted to the Ukrainian people as a gesture of empowerment and freedom. Currently, the song is also being played in France, Russia, and the United States. In addition to this showing of patriotic devotion, Vovkulaka also recorded a metal version of the “Ukrainian National Anthem.”

Here it is Head Bangers listen: ย  “Glory to the Heroes”

Other Vovkulaka classic tracks include the band’s second single, “My Devil,” and “Defy.” “My Devil” entrances with intricate power metal grooves, vocals that vacillate between guttural roars and soulful singing, and a dubstep solo by DJ Gigantor from the band Evol Intent. Here, the demonic haunting comes courtesy of a toxic past relationship. Razor-sharp syncopation rules the industrial pummel of “Defy.”

Standouts from Vovkulaka’s most recent breakthrough studio sessions include “Darkness Calling,” “Cemetery Voices,” and “The Purple Door.” “Cemetery Voices” opens ominously with funeral bells and charges forward with a white-knuckle thrash ride punctuated by sludge metal and gritty industrial ambience. The track is a journey into the negative voices in our head.

“Cemetery Voices”

“Darkness Calling” is a grinding dose of groove metal with throbbing dubstep passages. The sinister “Purple Door” begins with Naya G and JuleZ sensually naming colors in English and Ukrainian in what seems like a coded message. The track boasts eerily melodic keyboard melodies, throttling power metal riffs, glitchy dubstep moments, and monstrous singing and hooky vocalizing. “Purple Door” recounts a disturbing occult-flavored odyssey from another realm.

The tale of Vovkulaka dates back to a trip to the Ukraine where VolK’s interest in mysticism spurred him on to investigate a fort from the 1600th century. The location was the site of heinous torture, and the spirit of a Polish princess killed there haunts the ancient location to this day. During this visit, VolK had a song epiphany themed around the colors of the Ukraine flag. At the time, the political climate was reaching a boiling point. Fired up, VolK wrote the opening salvo of what would become his life’s work: Ukraine-based and paranormal-themed malicious metal. Upon his return to United States, VolK began his working relationship with iconic producer Darian Rundall, and his studio association with fleet-fingered guitarist Stone from the metal band Contortion.

Up next, Vovkulaka will storm the Ukraine and Europe with its mesmerizingly morbid live show, touring, playing one-off shows, and making festival appearances. VolK, a man of few words, says in closing: “I have cut off all ties with everyone, quit everything, and sold all of my possessions to dedicate myself to Vovkulaka. This is my everything.”

Well my Head Bangers if you don’t find anything interesting with this group I don’t know what to say.ย  I love the music, and there are a lot more songs on Utube. ย  But their story is what grabs me.ย  I know every band has a different story, but as a paranormal lover this one really interested me.ย  But you know what I always say, what speaks to me may not speak to you.ย  But that all being said, I love this band and look forward to hearing more from them.ย  They definitely bring the fire

7

Well my Head Bangers that’s it for this week, join me next week for another band and another song, and remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

SISU

As I will be headed for Finland and my Metal Man in 8 days, finally down to single digits, I would like to do a shout out to my Tattooist at Beautiful Body Tattoo’s for doing such a great job with my Runes it means SISU, google it,

Week 33 – Executioner

6

band

My Head Bangers are you ready for some Hardcore Thrash from San Antonio, Texas?ย  Well here it is, time to burn it down.

Let’s meet the band:

Jim Castro – Vocals
Mike Castro – Guitar
Dailen Bryce – Drums
Dominick Hinojosa – Bass

Below is a bio furnished directly from the band:

EXECUTIONER is a thrash crossover band from San Antonio, Texas.ย  The band started in 2015 by brothers Jim and Mike Castro, but due to multiple member changes, did not reach it’s full potential till 2017.ย  Executioner is Jim “Father Doom” Castro.ย  Mike Castro, Dailen Bryce and Dominick Hinojosa.

ย The band has a large range of influences from bands such as:ย  Municipal Waste, Lich King, Anthrax, Rhythm of Fear, Madball, Ringworm, Activate, Chemical Way, Wisdom in Chains, Toxic Holocaust, Agnostic Front, Slap Shot and more.

Executioner released their debut 7 song EP, “Bone Collector” on December 28, 2018 and is available through their bandcamp.ย  It is also available through all streaming platforms.

“Bone Collector”

“In The Name of Metal”

“Metal Up Your Ass”

As a relatively new band I can honestly say that I really like their music. When you start a band there can always be member issues and with constant change it can take a while to get a group that both works and blends together.ย  This is the only way to build a solid foundation for a great band.ย  Each member depends on the other to do their job, it they don’t its a disaster. It appears Executioner has found those members now.ย  The music flows, it has a great beat and Jim brings it all together with his vocals.ย  These members work hard and I have no doubt that they will make it. ย  When you start out and you work a regular job and all your extra hours go into your band, that my Head Bangers is the commitment that will in the end bring you only success.ย  So Executioner stick to it, don’t give up and keep that fire burning….

1

Well my Head Bangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn……………….

Week 32 – Nightshadow

Welcome from San Diego, California, the independent power/speed metal band.

Let’s meet the band:

2

Vocals: Brian Dell
Guitar: Nick Harrington
Guitar: Danny Fang
Bass: Chris Bader
Drums: Sean Woodman

“Anthem”

The Bio below was provided by the band:

Unleashing the rhythmic beasts with fast, aggressive and heavy melodic passion, Nightshadow brings unforgiving committed focus to epic power metal with the rich, powerful, dynamic force in the vocals of singer Brian Dell; thunderous, exhilarated energy of drummer Sean Woodman; dominating, double lead shredding magic in guitarists Nick Harrington and Danny Fang; rounding out with the crushing, methodical thumping of bassist Chris Bader laying a secure concrete foundation.

Originally formed in 2012 by guitarist Nick Harrington who then moved years later to San Diego to connect with his remaining band members, Nightshadow pounded the stage hard at their debut show in July 2016 and quickly developed a solid reputation with enthusiastic feedback and strong positive audience responses to their metal musical efforts fused with influences of Amon Amarth, King Diamond, Slayer, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Hammerfall, and Stratovarius.

“Battle Cry”

With tight instrumentation blended with intense perfection of notes hit on point, Nightshadow further established themselves by sharing the stage with the best of San Diegoโ€™s local talent as well as opening for national acts including: Appice Brothers, The Iron Maidens, Geoff Tateโ€™s Operation: Mindcrime, Marty Friedman, Hammerfall, Beastรถ Blancรถ, and Adrenaline Mob.

Nightshadow released their much-awaited 5-song EP in April 2017 and has plans to record their full album in 2018 entrusting their devoted fans with the perfect complete recipe to cause a riot at any given notice.

Wacken

Wacken Open Air 2019 Competition

Nightshadow has, for the last 2ย  years been in the competition to get a chance to play at Wacken Open Air, one of the biggest out door music festivals in Germany, 75,000 tickets were sold making this year sold out as usual.ย  Both years the band won the preliminary round in San Diego then lost the regional final in Los Angeles.ย  If they would have won they would be in the national final this Saturday, then would have progressed to Wacken for the global competition where the grand prize winner is chosen. ย  These guys don’t give up, they will be back next year, and every year and they will be on that Wacken Stage. ย

This summer they are recording their debut full length album.ย  In September they will be the opening band for Hammerfall.ย  As you can see they stay busy and don’t let anything side track them.ย  In this business you keep pushing ahead till you get where you want to be, don’t give up and as I said to them before the competition always bring your Fire:

4

Well my Head Bangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn………………

Week 31 – Primitive Machine

shamrock-149821__340

Please welcome from Dublin, Ireland:

ย  Primitive Machine

Primitive Machine, is an Irish Rock Band from Dublin, they have released four singles, the latest being ‘FreeFall’ from their upcoming debut album due for release this Summer 2019.

Their recent achievement is winning the Crystal Skull Sessions (Jan 2019) with three original songs played and put to the public vote.

Let’s meet the band:

1

Paul Costello – Drummer ย  ย  ย

Tracy Moore – Vocalist and Guitar

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Chris Fleming – Lead guitarist ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย

John Carey – Bass

I love this song, listen to the words:

FreeFall

The conception and coming together of Primitive Machine by Tracy the founder:

In the summer of 2015 I decided I needed to be in an original band. I had such a longing to get my music out of my head and hear it come to life. I saw myself in this band writing and creating music, but it wasn’t until the end of 2016 and one band and many musicians later that the four of us finally got together. The four of us are the perfect writing team, we just seem to know what the other is thinking and the ideas just bounce and the guys get me and interpret my ideas really easily. They are also brilliant writers. The last year has seen us as a band and a team working together to make our music work and we are constantly writing. The name Primitive Machine came from a song which was written and named Primitive Machine and I said to the guys ‘This would actually be a great name for the band!’ and they agreed and so we became the band named after our own song! lol!!! Moving forward we want and need what every original band desires, a label, rockin’ out concerts, sharing our music with the world! We don’t know if this will ever happen, it’s a tough industry to crack, but we continue to work hard and chase the dream and have no regrets in doing so and enjoy every single moment. We love that people support us and enjoy our stuff, it’s such a buzz and we really appreciate the support. We can’t do it without the people behind us. We are their greatest Fans! We love what we do. ‘Primitive Machine, are ye ready!? Hell, Yeah!’

“Primal”

Whoever came up with this video deserves a standing ovation.ย  I have yet to see anything like this before.

Of course headbangers you know I have a few things to say about this band and it’s members. ย  First the singer Tracy, when I heard her sing, I loved her voice immediately.ย  It was like I heard that voice before and just couldn’tย  place it.ย  Then one night I was sitting here and all of a sudden it hit meย  “Heart”, I kid you not, Tracy sounds exactly like Ann Wilson.ย  Listen to her voice, it’s powerful and strong. I listened to several songs from Heart then back to FreeFall and to me there wasย  barely any difference. ย  This band is a very cohesive unit, that has stayed together and keeps playing no matter what the outside world expects.ย  To the band as a whole I can say no matter what you do, or what goals you have, if you stick to it and continue to follow that dream and have fun doing it you have already won.ย  It’s not how big you get, how many EPs or Albums you sell, it’s about bringing your talent and your message to the listener.ย  Ifย  it’s meant to be then you will be up on the big stage sooner or later.ย  In the meantime at your next gig look into the faces of your fans, and you will find out that you have already made it.

Well my Headbangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next weekย  for another band and another song.ย  In the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Blue Fire

Week 30 – Daggerplay

Daggerplay is a Finnish punk rockยดnยดroll band formed in Helsinki in the end of 2011. The bandยดs sound is a combination of punk rock, traditional rockยดnยดroll and power pop.ย  I really don’t listen to punk rock or pop, however as my metal man says there is Metal in everything.ย  So I listened to a few of their songs and found myself liking the beat and the enthusiasum this band produces when they’re on stage.

5

Let’s meet the band:

Lead vocalist and guitarist – Pekko Mantzin

Bryan Ugartechea – Bass

Guitarist and backing vocalist – Tommi Luostarinen

Drummer – Sirpa Immonen.

The band has played over a hundred gigs since they started and playing shows actively.ย  The second album “Subterranean Reality” was released in October 2018.

Listen to this song Headbangers and tell me if you don’t feel the same way, I was smiling just thinking of all my mental friends LMAO, yeah I know me too.ย  The name of this song is

“My Friends Are Mental and I Am Mental Too”

“Cruel Wind Blowing”

Don’t Give Up

Just released March 2019

I find that in life, if you’re doing something you truly love, your time and energy will payoff in the end. ย  True musicians will play no matter what happens, no matter why lies before them, in Finnish it is called Sisu.ย  It means, strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity. So to put it simply, Daggerplay has been through many changes and is still standing and singing, they have Sisu.ย  I look forward to hearing more from this band in the future.ย  Remember Never Surrender, Never Give Up.ย  And that my HeadBangers is it for this week, as always join me next week for another band and another song until then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 29 – Kalmo Doom

Kalmo_logo_redWelcome to all that is Kalmo Doom from Kerava, Finland

Kalmo is a Finnish one-man doom metal project. ย

Very little is know about Kalmo, and all my contacts with him has been through email and texts.ย  Being very dark and mysterious, Kalmo professes to prefer to live in the darkness where he was born. ย  Is this dark creature a loner, and evil entity or perhaps one of the Fallen ones.ย  Born into darkness, Kalmo, rose to become aย  powerful Demon, his main interest is the end of all mankind and the rise of his doom metal, listen to the song below, it’s called:

“Show Me Your Face”

Kalmo’s voice is very gutteral and reminds you of some kind of creature that arises from the depths of the underworld, where all is not friendly, but dark and evil.

Kalmo-Demoni_CD_front_cover

All of Kalmo’s music is done in his native tounge of Finnish, the translation is ย  in with the release of his new EP titled “Demoni”ย  to be released on May 10, 2019.ย  See also the press release of last week on this Blog for more information on Kalmo’s experiences.

Whatever Kalmo is spawned from the music is good and dark.ย  I think you will appreciate the mystery behind this dark magic music.ย  I wish I had more information at this time on this entity Kalmo, but the relationship of trust is in the making and hopefully I will hear more of the vision he has.ย  There is no doubt in my mine that Kalmo thrives in the dark and the fire, he may have created fire, we shall see in the weeks to come.

bonfire burning campfire fire
Well my HeadBangers, that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  As always don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….

Week 28 – Repaid In Blood

Head Bangers are you ready for some pure Fucking Geek Metal at it’s finest.ย  These guys are the real deal!

1

I don’t remember how I came across this band and these geeks that make it up, but I am so glad that I did.ย  I can say these are the nicest, fan driven guys I have come across lately.ย  I know all bands love their fans, and they better because as we all know the band will only survive if the fans back them.ย  Well you can sign me up to back this band, it really was a great surprise.

2

As you can see their enthusiasm is very contagious.ย  I love a happy band.

Repaid In Blood is a metal band that started in 2006 in San Jose, CA. The name was taken from a lyric off The Black Dahlia Murder’s first full-length album, Unhallowed. The name is an expression of violence in its purest form, vengeance. Victor Hernandez and Jake Burrman formed the band in high school. Jake Burrmann and Juan Galvez are the last founding members of the band, and yet, with the powerful vocals and live performances of Darrell Durham, along with the blistering leads of Patrick Small, Repaid In Blood is a strong and cohesive family.

Repaid In Blood mixes the best of Death Metal and Metalcore genres creating their own unique genre: Geek Metal. Which blends crushing riffs, searing solos, and ball-shattering breakdowns with a variety of pop culture, movies, games, and geekdom samples into their performances that always gets the crowd going and shouting the lines and samples during the show!

“Waste Of Time”

Repaid In Blood has worked the local scene with a strong fan base, played in three showcases at South By Southwest, numerous West Coast and Southwest Tours, US Tours, as well as a holiday parody music video I Saw Zombies Eating Santa Claus. Repaid In Blood released their first full-length album Born In A Lazarus Pit with Eric Hill at The Blue Room Recording Studios, which was released in June 24th, 2014. Repaid In Blood went back into the studio to record their latest release, Terra Mourning, which they went on full US tour with in June 2017 for the No One Gets Out Alive Tour with In Death (Aus), Casket Robbery (WI), and Bury The Rod (TX).

Repaid In Blood are serious about the music they create, but always have fun in doing so. Whether it is creating stop motion music videos from Legos (I Call the Big One Bitey), doing a Puppet Music Video of Push It by Salt N Pepper, releasing tour and video blooper reels, using Archer or Stranger Things for a live opening, kidโ€™s cereal, zombies, pop culture, comic books, Game Of Thrones or peeing on you, you are guaranteed to take something away from Repaid In Blood musically or live.

They are national touring veterans that have been on the road many times, and are no stranger to touring. Repaid in Blood have one full length album, Born In A Lazarus Pit, which was released June 2014, with music videos released, national promotion, and press as well. The album did extremely well selling independently across the globe. Repaid in Blood also have a freshman EP, One Bullet Shy of A Solution. The new release Terra Mourning, was met with great success on tour, and a full length movie premiere of the album will be live from the Star Wars Themed Bar: Seven Stars in September. Repaid in Blood have done full US Tours: East Bound and Death Tour with thrashers Apothesary, the Repaid In Death Tour with Australian Death Metalers In Deathโ€ฆ, the Split Personality Tour with Death Will Tremble, the Danger Zone Tour with Casket Robbery, and the massive No One Gets Out Alive Tour with In Deathโ€ฆ, Casket Robbery and Bury The Rod which was a great success. Repaid In Blood have also done a number of West Coast and Southwest Tours with great success, as well as playing in three showcases at SxSw (South by Southwest). They have European and Australian tours interested for 2018, along with a ton of US Tour Requests. Repaid in Blood have shared the stage with All Shall Perish, Allegaeon, Betraying the Martyrs, Embrionic Devourment, and Forbidden, as well as so many others on the road. Check out Utube to see alot more of the different things that they do.

“What A Lovely Day”

These guys love their fans and send care packages with personal notes and stickers to their supporters.ย  I love this a personal note, come on I’d rather have that then the CD, how often do you get that.ย  Not that I would turn down the CD.ย  All bands do different things, but you have to admit this GEEK band has talent and yeah you know what I’m going to say my Head Bangers, they have that special fire…..

3

That’s it for this week my Head Bangers, join me next week for another band and another song and remember, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…….

News Release on Kalmo

Kalmo-Demoni_logo1

25.4.2019 โ€“ Kerava, Finland

For immediate release
Kalmoโ€™s Debut EP Demoni
There is no salvation, no place to escape. The demons are here. Plans of doom take shape.
A dark creature was born in the darkness. This demon has grown out of its infancy. Spreading its wings. Ready for the evident end of human kind. Ready to explore all the horrors and burning agony on the way to the doom.

2

Kalmo is filled with scorching excitement to release its EP Demoni on 10.5.2019.

Kalmo (cadaver in English) is a Finnish one-man doom metal project. The morbid project has a history of almost a decade under different names, releasing material sporadically. Now, within the past two years, Kalmo has put more time and effort into releasing more bestial material. Before releasing this EP, Kalmo has released songs as demos; some with music videos. Now, a fistful of hymns of darkness have been more or less re-recorded, mixed and mastered to be released as a 6-song EP.

Demoni summarizes and concludes an episode in Kalmoโ€™s story. Some of the EPโ€™s songs are from very early years and some have been written within the past two years. With this release, as a demonic rite of passage, Kalmo is ready for more. New dark verses are being written. New evil psalms are being silently chanted in the darkness. The sinews of the sinister are gaining power. The doom will be inevitable.

Kalmo-Demoni_CD_front_cover

The EP is available as a digital edition and a CD release. Kalmo makes its doom in Finnish: for those doomed ones not so familiar with this brutal language, the CD version contains a booklet with lyrics in both Finnish and English. Also available is a Demoni t-shirt, for wrapping that doomed cadaver in. Place your order through Kalmoโ€™s Bandcamp page.

Week 27 – Arch Enemy

One of the hottest Melodic Death Metal Bands on the planet:

1

Band members from left to right:

Daniel Erlandsson – Drums

Sharlee D’Angelo – Bass

Alissa White-Gluz – Vocals

Jeff Loomis – Guitarsย

Michael Amott – Guitars

Three front women and 23 years later this Swedish Melodic Death Metal Band is still standing and going stronger than ever. ย  Arch Enemy has been through many changes in the past 23 years, but founder, Michael Amott has stood strong in his belief ofย  heavy metal, this is a direct quote from him taken from their bio.

โ€œThe band’s core musical philosophy hasn’t changed much since I started the band,โ€ says Amott. โ€œIt’s still about creating intense heavy metal with extreme vocals and a lot of melody in the guitars. We’ve always loved writing and meticulously crafting the best songs possible, that’s main motivation for us.”

In 1996, Arch Enemy released their album Black Earth, death metal was just standing still and needed a big push.ย  In 1998 they signed with Century Media Records for the effort Stigmata, Arch Enemy pushed forward towards a new century with a rapidly growing reputation, and taking the world.

“The World Is Yours”

Alissa White-Gluz, is the front woman for Arch Enemy, and I’m sure most of you already know that.ย  I’m sure anyone who follows this band, will know the details of her rise to become one of the strongest woman growl vocalist anywhere, if you listen to her sing for the first time without looking at a video, I swear you don’t know she’s a woman, her voice is just that powerful, and I’m not the only one who couldn’t pick up on that.

“The Eagle Flies Alone”

My favorite it gives me the chills, what a voice and a great videoย  Perkele

But let’s not forget the guys, they bring it all together:

Daniel John Erlandsson is a Swedish musician, best known as the drummer in the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy and Brujeria. His early work includes drumming on the In Flames album Subterranean. He has also played for other bands, most notably Eucharist, Liers in Wait, Diabolique, Armageddon, Revengia and The End.ย  I love a good drummer, and this one is great.

Sharlee D’Angelo is the Swedish bassist for the melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, as well as the classic rock/AOR band the Night Flight Orchestra, the stoner metal band Spiritual Beggars and the blackened thrash/speed metal band Witchery. ย  I am a big supporter of all bassist.ย  To me the drummer and bassist make it all happen, that’s just me.

Jeff Loomis is an American musician, best known for his role as lead guitarist in the progressive metal band Nevermore. In November 2014, it was announced he was to be the new guitarist for Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy.

Michael Amott is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter, founding member of the bands Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars, and Carnage, as well as a former member of the extreme metal band Carcass. He is the older brother of Christopher Amott. Some major influences in his music have been Tony Iommi, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Dave Mustaine.

“You Will Know My Name”

I love watching their videos, every aspect of them are totally on point.ย  Well my HeadBangers, that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another band and another song.ย  As always don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 26 – Falling into Red

IMG_6996 (2)

โ€œWe are a new hard/alternative rock band from Pittsburgh, PA.ย  We’re are currently in the studio working on our very first and self-titled EP.ย  We can’t wait to share it with youโ€.

Let’s meet the band:

Scott – co-principle songwriter, vocals, guitar, orchestration, synth programming

Amy – co-principle songwriter, vocals piano/synth, percussion

Ray – Bass

Dave – Drums

This is their new release:ย  The Storm Inside

I really like this song, the vocals are great and so are the instruments.ย  You can hear everything. ย

Formed in 2016, founding members Scott and Amy wanted to combine their love of aggressive, guitar – based rock/metal, hi-tech sound of synth/techno and the cinematic quality of modern film scores with strong melodies, and deliver it in a rock band format.ย  Backed by a killer rhythm section, Falling into Red was born.

In “Haunt Me”, I like how use their synth programming to get that sound, I can’t describe it, but I like it, and that Bass, yeah it all comes together.

Hard at work in the studio, they released their first single “Haunt Me”ย  in earlyย both “The Storm Inside” and “Burns So Slow” released in the following months.ย  Falling into Red’s first EP is planned to be released in 2018, which is below’.

For a relatively new band I can honestly say that I really do like their music.ย  I like how they are using that synth programming to obtain a really different type of music.ย  This band is one to keep your eye on, my sixth sense is telling me we will hear alot more from “Falling into Red” and of course I love how they bring their fire….

1

Well my Head Bangers that’s it for this week, join me next week for a new band and another new song, in the meantime don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn.

Week 25 – Tulsadoom

Prepare yourselves my Headbangers and Metalheads

TULSADOOM is on the BLOG!

4

First let’s meet the guys:

csm_Penetrator_71959a84cccsm_Thunder_e1e7c8a728csm_Bulldozer_bd30b50d46

Lord Penetrator – Guitarist

Rick Thunder – Bass

Bulldozer Golubeb – Drums

“Skulls”

“Riddle of Steel”

The Riddle of Steel, is an aphorism on the importance of the metal to their people, the Cimmerians. UNDER the command of Crom, Tulsadoom was formed in 2007 by guitarist Lord Penetrator along with bassist Rick Thunder as a wild and hard-hitting Barbaric Metal outfit hailing from Austria.ย  The identity of Tulsadoom consists of steel-bending heavy metal hymns molten into a raw blend with the blood soaked speed of early day Thrash and Black Metal.ย  Tulsadoom got renowed for employing a savage barbaric image, greatly influenced by “Conan the Barbarian” and other classics of the sword & sorcery era.

Here is some background on the God Crom:

Crom is the god of men and steel.ย  Long ago, the giants that lived in the earth tricked Crom and took from him the “riddle of steel”.ย  Crom killed the giants with fire and earth and threw their bodies into the ocean.ย  But in the fury of battle, the gods forgot the secret of steel on the battlefield, and those that found it are simply men.ย  Not gods, nor giants, but men.

Some claim that Crom was once a man, that he led the armies of the Wild Men the day they broke the strength of the Elder slavers.ย  Perhaps, but no matter.ย  For now Crom continues the eternal battle against Colasix and the serpent-wizards of Praxis IV across the stars.

“Fist from the Grave”

They signed for the debut album “Barbarian Steel” (2012) to Nihilistic Empire Records, Releasing also it successor “Storms of the Netherworld” (2015) under the banner of the same label.ย  through the years, Tulsadoom refined their music and faced new adventures, while the forged material continued to rely heavily on barbaric themes.ย  Their latest release is a split-LP/MC, with Austrianย Metal Bastards Hellrazors called “Helltulsarazordoom”ย  (2017), released by Witches Brew/Cursed Records.ย  Tulsadoom faced high adventures in the east as well as in the West, pillaging clubs, festivals and open airs with Legends such Megadeth, Sodom, Abbath, Blind Guardian and Destruction.

untitled

They whet their blades to revitalize the merciless metal of ages long forgotten, when one could solely trust the riddle of cold steelโ€ฆ

full-view-of-the-thulsa-doom

STORMS OF THE NETHERWORLD

I have been waiting to do this blog on Tulsadoom for a very long time.ย  As a huge fan of Conan and his God Crom, I love when a band adds more to the mix then just great music.ย  Tulsadoom has everything I need in great Evil,ย  Barbaric, Thrash Metal band.ย  Not to mention great growl vocals, great hair and a great sound, but then to add Conan and Crom the God of men and steel, well it just adds to that touch of the Metal music experience my Head Bangers.ย  The band takes the place of Conan and his weapons are their instruments, I just love it…..and it brings the fire…

6

Well that’s it for this week my Head Bangers, join me next week for another band and another song, till then you know the deal, don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn………….

Week 24 – Dream Troll

Dream Troll – making the old sound new again!!

First let’s meet Dream Troll in this exclusive picture just released for all my Headbangers and Metalheads, and a big thanks to Dream Troll.

IMG_6924

Current members:
Guitar/main song writer/producer – Matt Baldwinson
Guitar – Paul Carter
Vocals – Paul Walsh
Drums – Simon Blakelock
Bass – Paul Thornton

Previous members: ย  Vocals – Rob Stringer

This song is calledย  “Blood Moon”ย  this music has me moving all over the place, love the sound!!!!!!!!

Formed in early 2016, Epic UK metallers, Dream Trรถll pay homage to all things metal that inspired them when they were younger, and a salute to all the metal clichรฉs that they still love. They are finishing working on their 2nd full length album and hope to start releasing new music over the next few months. They have been building worldwide fan base and catching the attention of tabloid and national music press after a collaboration with politician Richard Burgon on their debut album.

The Witches Course – this is so bad ass

Dream Troll has a classic/traditional metal feel to it, bringing technical and melodic elements together in a high energy, entertaining performance.ย  Dream Troll combines the classic and nostalgic 80’s metal sound and themes with new melodic rock forms as well as power metal elements.ย  Step back in time to the days of bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Dio, with modern flavours of Children of Bodom and Ghost.

The Battle for Enki’s Tower

The thing I like best about Dream Trolls songs, first they are longeer than most and tell a story with each one and second damn, Paul Walsh can really belt a song out, can’t he.ย  Dream Troll really has this energy it shows in each song, in each word.ย  They are passionate in their songs as well as having a passion for life.ย  I enjoyed working with these guys and I appreciate them giving me the exclusive right to use their picture on the blog.ย  It was very cool of them and unexpected.ย  But the unexpected is what brings us the fire headbangers…

1

That’s it for this week Headbangers, join me next week for another band and another song.ย  And remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…

Story

—–

Come True is about the search for mental balance and inner strength. Being held down by your inner demons, life appears difficult or even hostile. So you crawl under your blanket to escape from the blazing daylight. Finding inner strength would mean to end this struggle, to embrace yourself, and to discover joy in what you are and do. The song describes this search for luck that starts in the hypnotizing world that surrounds you and ends up inside yourself.

Week 23 – The One And Only 69 EYES

I cannot tell you how much I love this Band.ย  The best Rock n Goth on the damn planet.

5

Let’s meet the guys, as if you don’t already know:

Jussi69 – Drums

Bazie – Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals

Jyrki69 – Lead Vocals

Archzie – Bass and Backing Vocals

Timo Timo – Guitar

โ€I rushed to buy the brand new Cramps album in the early 90โ€™s at my favorite record shop. When I asked to listen to it, the guy behind the counter looked at me and said: โ€Cโ€™mon Jyrki, itโ€™s THE CRAMPS, you donโ€™t really need to listen to it beforehand!โ€ This kind of logic should work with the new THE 69 EYES album as well. Itโ€™s THE 69 EYES, goddammit!โ€

Producer Johnny Lee Michaels teamed-up with THE 69 EYES in the final months before the Millennium and together they developed the bandโ€™s ‘Gothโ€™nโ€™Roll’ signature sound on the albums ยปBlessed Beยซ (2000) and ยปParis Killsยซ (2002). After over a decade the band has finally got itโ€™s 6th vampire back and is now releasing their 11th album called ยปUniversal Monstersยซ on Nuclear Blast Records. Once again produced by Johnny Lee Michaels who is also on keyboards, backing vocals and, most importantly, involved in the arrangements. This is 100% pure ‘Gothโ€™nโ€™Roll’ in 2016!

Universal Monstersยซ has already been said to sound like an album that could have come out right after ยปParis Killsยซ. Yet itโ€™s as mysterious and surprising as THE 69 EYES have always been. Epic songs like ‘Blackbird Pie’ combining Celtic melodies with Ennio Morricone-ish string arrangements, Native American flute and singing together in the way music was once done and the west was wonโ€ฆ or strange French-new wave rock with the chorus of ‘Miss Pastis’โ€ฆ or a Jim Morrison-esque mystic postcard from ‘Jerusalem’โ€ฆโ€Nobody makes music like we do, man! This is our life, this is what we believe in,โ€ says vocalist Jyrki 69.ย  And I totally agree with Jyriki’s statement.ย

The first single and video ‘Jet Fighter Plane’ represents the band more current and nearly political stance โ€“ though they claim to have just written a Cold War-era sounding retro song.

โ€œWe sounds as fresh as ever, the music goes itself and takes us into undiscovered paths and soundscapes. How the album grew into what it has become just surprised us and you can really hear the creativity blooming there. And still it sounds nobody else but THE 69 EYES, โ€œ tries the vocalist Jyrki 69 describe the mystic recording process.

Dolce Vita

This is one of the best damn songs, talk about not being able to sit still.

And like always, the best backing vocalists can be found from the closest bars in Helsinki! This time the local latest hard rock heroes, SANTA CRUZ were recruited for the backing vocal sessions.

The cover artwork of ยปUniversal Monstersยซ, as well as the first video single, were conceived by Finnish photographer and director Ville Juurikkala – known from his works for NIGHTWISH, AMORPHIS, HIM, APOCALYPTICA and MICHAEL MONROE. As the album title ยปUniversal Monstersยซ refers, the band are portrayed in movie monster lightning, showing them as well classic and timeless creatures. โ€œThe covers are planned and designed as an old-school CD covers – remember when the booklets used to be as exciting as the album itself?! It will actually have five different covers being such a folder – each member of the band can be used as a cover creature of their own. Ville has really succeeded in capturing the classic movie vibe for the shots without any special make-up or photo shopping. THE 69 EYES are the universal rock โ€™nโ€™ roll monsters – not so many of us left anymore,โ€ says THE 69 EYES vocalist Jyrki. โ€œSo from real fans I wish they would get the actual CD in their hands to get the full album treatment as we have planned it to be experienced!โ€

THE 69 EYES started in Helsinki, Finland in 1989. Hailing as a glammy Dark Rock band their sound was described as ‘Gothโ€™nโ€™Roll’ by the turn of the century. With their platinum selling albums and radio hits in their native Finland, the band has toured all over the world for two decades. The easiest way to find their shows is to follow their fans who stand out from the crowd easily in the way the classic cult bandโ€™s fans do. The band has also gained a nickname as ‘Helsinki Vampires’.

12

Seriously look at Jyrki, he’s so smooth and deadly as hell, what else can I say, and the way he sings those songs makes your head just explode.

If you can watch this video and not have some kind of reaction, there definitely is a problem somewhere OMG PERKELE

One day Juha and I were discussing music which is a huge passion for both of us, and I started to tell him the more I listen the more I discover, like the bass, the guitar, and then one day I discovered Jussi the drummer for 69 Eyes.ย  This is just a bit of a back story for Jussi’s hair style.ย  Jussi met Nikki Sixx of Motley and Nikki commented on Jussi’s hair and how he liked it, Jussi replied you should I got it from you, true story, as the source wouldn’t lie ย

I’ve started to get past the look of the band and into the sound of the instruments.ย  Jussi is one of the most focused drummers I’ve seen yet.ย  The sound he commands his drums to make during songs is in creditable, and he is easy on the eye lmao. But watch him play.ย  It amazes me how drummers can keep up that pace during a concert.

An interesting fact about Jussi is he owns “The Riff” one of the Best Rock Bars in Helsinki, Finland.

It’s a beautiful bar, and has been know as a hang out for Children of Bodom,ย  so let’s drop in and see who might be there.

Now Here is every bodies favorite

LOST BOYS

In closing i have to sayย  69 Eyes is one of my top 5 bands.ย  WHY?ย  because theyย  came back, and are as good as ever.ย  I have yet to run into a band like 69 Eyes, that when the music plays and the words flow from his mouth, as my metal man Juha puts it, my head explodes, but it was him that first introduced me to this this simmering gothic band that I can’t and won’t let go of, a big kiitos rakas to my Kulta.

Usually I would say this band has the fire but 69 Eyes is moreย  and has more than fire, they are like liquid Mercury, so soft and smooth and yet deadly if ingested. ย  This my HeadBangers is liquid mercury never to be destroyed…..

mercury

That’s it for this week Head Bangers.ย  Join me next week for another band andย  another song.ย  Till then dont get to close to fire if you can’t handle the burn…

Week 22 – Ghost Season

Let’s meet these Metal Menย  from the country of the 300 Spartans, I mean come on it’s in their blood to be Metal Music Warriors.

1Dorian Gates – Bassย

Nick Christolis – Guitar

Tasos Lazarus ย – Vocals

Jerry Dzerefos – Drumsย

Formed back in July 2013, Ghost Season was an idea spawned by Dorian Gates (Bass).ย  Within weeks Nick Christolis (Guitar) joined to complete Dorian’s vision.ย  The purpose was to create fresh, new material in patterns of Hard Rock and Alternative Metal music joined to complete.ย  Among the bands that inspire Ghost Season are Revelation Theory, Shinedow, In Flames, Disturbed, Crossfade, Pop Evil, All That Remains, Alter Bridge, and many more.ย  The goal to the band is to play dynamic and vibrant music, bridging agressive and melodic elements while keeping the focus of live energy and enjoyment.

Fade Away

I love the beat in this song, has me banging in my chair

Ghost Season completed recording their first EP release “Ghosts Like Her”, which was released on September 2014 and received positive reviews especially in the US from fans and critics alike, while they were working at their full length album and scheduling numerous upcoming shows locally in Athens and around Greece.ย  In September 2015, Hercules Zotos joined Ghost Season as their voice and Helen Nota sat on the drummers seat.

Late 2015, Hercules and the band went in the studio for the recording of their first single titled “Break My Chains” which was released on December 2015 as a first taste of their upcoming album.

The band signed with Pavement Entertainment and released their debut full length album “Like Stars In a Neon Sky”ย  in January 2017 featuring the video “Fade Away.”ย

In February 2019, with the recruitment of their new singer Tasos Lazarus and drummer Jerry Dzerefos, Ghost Season released their 2nd EP “From The Otherside” which contains acoustic versions of songs from their first LP “Like Stars in a Neon Sky”.ย  With the success of the album “Like Stars in a Neon Sky” and hopefully the EP “From the Otherside” the band will continue down the same road of success and are planning to release their 2nd full length album also in 2019.ย  Ghost Season is standing firmly on their feet ready for the next chapter in their story.

That’s it for this week my Head Bangers, join me next week for another band and another song.ย  Remember once you have found the fire keep it close……

Week 21 – VANE

ship-2275399_960_720Vane is a metal band, started in 2016 by two friends – Mateusz Gajdzik (Witchking, Saratan, Crystal Viper) and Robert Zembrzycki (Acid Drinkers, Corruption, and Saratan).ย  The two guitarists soon recruited Marcin Frackowiak (Percival Schuttenbach, Stos, River of Time) for the bass guitar duties, and the trio focused on finding a suiting vocalist to match their vision.ย  Marcin Parandyk (Killsorrow, Razortype)ย  was one of their first choices, and approached by Robert, he agreed to give it a try.ย  Marcin Zdeb (Razortype, Unlumination, Arondight) soon followed his bandmates steps and decided to join Vane.

The quintet started intensive work on the concept of the album, aw well as compositions for the album.ย  Led by Mateusz Gajdzik, they kept reworking, rearranging and polishing their songs, while Zembrzycki and Parandyk forcused on the storytelling in the lyrics.

Vane’s music is mix of death metal and catchy melodies, all spiced up with a story rooted deeply in actual history of The Golden Age of Piracy.

In just 1 year since its inception, Vane released a promo called “The Prologue”, consisting of 3 songs that are planned to be part of a concept album, “Black Vengeance”.

In May 2018 Marcin Frackowiak left the band and was replaced by Lukasz Lukasik (Netherfell).ย  The reinforced crew pushed on, and in Spring 2018 the band entered Impressive Art Studio, helmed by Przemyslaw Nowak.ย  The recording and production took the whole summer, and the album is scheduled for late autumn release, November 30, 2018.

Let’s meet the Band of Pirates that make up VANE

(Just click on the pictures for their names)

Rise to Power

This video was the first I had seen of Vane, and that’s all I needed, I was hooked. The under water parts where excellent and so different than anything else I had ever seen before.

ย As for the pirate topic – our very own Robert has always been keen on sailing and marine adventure, both in life and in books/movies. And when it comes to the sea, there is nothing more metal then pirates! So when forming a band with Mateusz, they both agreed on tackling the topic of this scourge of the seas and trying to write their own dark story in the reality of the golden age of piracy.”

ย Vane is trying to get to Bloodstock Festival, and is asking if you have a Facebook Account to leave a like next to their pic Facebook.com/bloodstockmetal2.

Death’s Season

The thing I like best about the band of course is the growl vocals.ย  Marcin’s voice is very powerful and how he keeps it up through out the whole song, while allowing you to hear every word amazes me.ย  Growl vocals are so hard to maintain for a long period of time, but from start to finish he keeps it going, never missing a beat.ย  Of course it helpsย  when you have a great band backing you up.

There are a lot of videos and a series of Behind the Music videosย  on Utube.ย  They are well worth checking out.ย  I hope they do make it to Bloodstock, and I wish them much success.ย  Vane is one of those unique bands that has the vocals and music to take them as far as the wind in their sails will go….

That’s it for this my Head Bangers, join me next week for another band and another song, till then don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn…..

Week 20 – Ravenscroft

unnamed

First let’s meet the guys (Left to right)

Brett Octane – Guitar

Joe Aghassi – Drums

Ralph Buso – Vocals

Devin Baker – Bass

This is just one of many songs that you will love

Into the Dark

Ravenscroft is a foursome of musicians from Orange, California. Their individual backgrounds and educations deliver melodic alternative rock.ย  They have taken sounds from blues/rock, acid rock of the 1960’s, harder rock and metal impact of the 1970’sย  and 1980’s, the 1990’s grunge influence and what they game up with is unquestionably some of the best music I’ve heard.ย  It not hard core metal, but a mixture of everything.ย  Whatever you’re looking for you will find something in Ravenscroft that will have you coming back for more.

Who doesn’t love this song and the video is so kick ass.ย

Stand Up

“Ravenscroft is going to be the next big name in hard music”

Michael Aronovitz
Metalheads Forever Magazine

Well after listening to their songs, I have to agree with Michael, and I feel it, they are going to be the next big name in hard music.ย  Every song has a different sound, a different meaning.ย  You will hear it if you listen not to mention that it’s some good Head Banging music and who doesn’t want that?ย  I’d like to add that the guys are really good at what they do and with Ralph, well you can hear every word he says whether its low or screaming and to me that’s what makes a great band, and the bass, the guitar and the drums, they all are on perfect time with each other.

The guys also have a message for their fans:

Without our fans…We are NOTHING!!!ย  We love our fans, and treat them all like Family!!!

This last song “Cauldron of Deceit” 2015, Is without question one of the best songs.ย  It is the first song I heard and I have loved them ever since.ย  And when I listen to a song for the very first time I only listen, no video, I like to see what my brain things about the music and words before I watch the video, try it sometime you may like it.

I love a band that has fire, and Ravenscroft does have that fire……

7

As much as I would like to keep you, You’re set free, fly Ravenscroft and find your place in this world.ย  We will all be watching and waiting…..

5

That’s it for this week Head Bangers, join me next week for another band and another song, till then don’t stand to close the fire if you can’tย  handle the burn….

Silver End – Bergen, Norway

Before I start talking about the music Iย heard today I would like to introduce the guys:

2

Christian Lero – Vocals/Guitar

Cata Babut – Lead Guitar

Lasse Ove Steine – Bass

Iben Christopher Espeseth Hanoy – Drums/Vocals

This Song “Never Back Down”ย  I listened to for at least 9 hours today, that’s what I do when a song is trying to speak to me, here is that song.

Rarely do I rave about a band that I have just heard one song from, band members without my love of long viking hair, or are not from Finland.ย  However, this morning in my Utube box was this song “Never Back Down”, I sat on my bed and was in total awe, that was 13 hours ago.ย  This song spoke to me, only 3 songs have ever done that so here I am tonite with my thoughts on the band, which I found out is from Bergen, Norway, go figure, just across the line from my heart, Finland.

The song told me that you can always be there for someone, let them know that you will always be there and you will never let them fall, but still be true to yourself, you must always be true to yourself because if you’re not you will be no good to anyone.ย  Sometimes you may end up standing alone which is what we all have been through or are doing now. ย  But you must know that everything is possible,ย  I will never give up on my “Metal Guy” or let him fallย  and I will Never Back Down.ย  This is part of life my Head Bangers, it’s always about what you are willing to do and go through for that person in your life.ย  So Never Back Down, and Never Give Up, we all need help from falling at some point in our lives.ย  Be there and be strong when the other needs it, you will be rewarded.

Also I bought the CD and every song is excellent, I love this new band I’ve found and look forward to more great songs that have a message, and the next song that speaks to me.. ย

Love to hear your thoughts

Week 19 – Love Machine

1

Let’s meet the guys:

Rob Della Frera – Vocalist
Frank T. Raider – Guitar
Max Adams – Guitar
Yako Martini – Bass
Andrew Dal Zio – Drums
Lele Triton – Keyboards ย  ย

These guys can still bang it out.ย  Lovin that bass.

The Band was born in Milan, Italy in 1988 and their self-titled debut album was released in May 1990 with one of the first Italian Independent labels called Sanremo Hit.ย  In 1991 the band took a first promo tour of 30 concerts, playing live everywhere throughout Italy to become known.ย  In January 1992, The Love Machine Changed their line-up,ย including a new singer LA Drago, and new bassist Fabian Andrechen ad a second guitarist Max Adams.ย  In 1993 they released their second and powerful album “Hungry For Your Love” with another Italian Independent label called Red Line.ย  The entire album was recorded and mixed at Red Studio and mastered by Gunnar Carone of Phonocomp; 10 tracks ranging for classic hard rock, even to the teutonic heavy metal and ballads. The album received a positive response from both the audience during live shows by both the press and in particular by the Japanese press. They began a massive promotional tour for almost a year and a half, for a total of 130 concerts in clubs, pubs, festivals, biker shows, local tv shows and live acts as both foreign and Italian local acts ending with a performance in Japan at the Music Expo in Tokyo. In 1994 they were asked to play four concerts in Latvia, Estonia as a special guests in local music events and open air festivals.ย

Let’s Get it Rock – Just Released February

In 1995, at the end of this heavy tour, after the last show, they played as support to the English heavy metal master Saxon, during their “Dogs of War Anniversary Tour 1995.ย  In the next month the Love Machines started writing material for their third album after a couple of recording sessions for the singer and bassist re again replaced.ย  Tow new guys joined the group, the singer Ronnie Alberti and the bassist, Steven Pasko who bought a new energy, new ideas for new great songs. ย  In March 1996 the played four shows with Gotthard during their “G Word Tour 1996-1997.ย  During these shows, they presented a couple new songs with a very food response from the fans and crowd.ย  In fact, in May 1996 they began recording the album simply titled The Nite at Regson Studios in Milan.ย  The result is a solid album, more rough than the previous, a different sound and lyrical texts, the right balance between the Heavy Rock and melody. ย  The Nite was released thanks to Pat Scalabrino by Pick-Up. In May of the same year, Love Machine playing with the famous American metal band WASP during “Kill Fuck Die European Tour”, as live guest in Ponderano, Italy.ย  In 1998 Love Machine has lot of musical material played during the concerts recorded in advanced for a hypothetical first live album, but unfortunately, at that time, the singer is fired and the band decides to suspend all activities. ย

ย Star Rider

Shortly after, the other 5 members are involved in another project under Sigma and between 2000/2004 they released 2 studio albums under m/niker/Sigma.ย  In 2001, at the dawn of their 10th anniversary, the band decided to celebrate it with the old members and the original line-up of Hungry for Your Love, with 7ย  dates in Italy and once again collects a good success, but unfortunately, jealousy, internal tensions and misunderstandings lead the members to another long stop where everyone is dedicated to countless activities and private passions.ย  In 2010 thanks to the Steelheart Records and label manager Primo Bonali well-know as journalist and publisher of Metal Force, Love Machine release on the market completely digitally limited remastered edition of Hungry For Your Love and bringing together for the second time the same training in 1992.ย  After some good performances in 2012, onceย  more, the group decides, but the same old problems, negative attitudes of some old members and a climate conducive to peaceful and just absolutely, that it is time, once again to change the skin and face, to turn the page to find new strength, power and positive energy: first step, the new bass player, and trusted friend and fan, Yako Martini and the extraordinary new singer Rob Della Frera.ย

A total rebirth began their musical and spiritual artists and musicians.ย  In February/March 2013, Love Machine played another good warm-up tour in Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Bulgaria and Italy, with a great response and acceptance and great welcome back from the fans and bringing them to recorded the very first 100% live album titled Alive “N” Well, that will be releasing in September/October 2013.ย  Exclusively only on the digital music market in the world thanks to the metal label manager Mirko Gallinazzo of Defox Records.ย  September 2014 AJ Van Damn the original keyboards player left the band for personal reasons.ย  Love Machine remains in 5 pieces and occasionally only live uses a session man.ย  May 2015 Love Machines had just ready the new single for the upcoming new studio album and in the same time they play live around in some festivals and live clubs.

5

One thing that I have learned from this band is they never give up under any circumstances.ย  They have been through a lot of changes but are constantly evolving and constantly working.ย  I look forward to more music from them in future and wish them all the best.ย  As long as you continue to do what you love you are always winning.ย  They have a passion for their music and they still have the fire…………..

Wellย  Headbangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another bank and another song. ย  Remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn………………….

Week 18 – Children of Bodom

4 (2)

Happy Valentine’s Day Head Bangers (A Day late I know just go with it)

Children of Bodom is the favorite band of a close friend from Espoo, Finland, his twitter account is @juhakun.ย  Without him I would have never found some of the best Metal I’ve ever heard.ย  He would send me songs by different bands and soon I was totally immersed in the bands of Finland. ย  There’s something different in the sound, its hard to explain but, listen to a few bands and I hope you will see what I mean. But as I always say, what speaks to me may not speak you. ย  This week is for Juha, thank you for showing me a different kind of Metal that is now part of me, I will never forget it or Lemmy.

First a song from COB called “Under Grass and Clover” off their 10th Album “Hexed”, 2019.

Over the last twenty years, Children of Bodom have incorporated many different musical styles into their sound, leading critics and fans to label them as Melodic Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Symphonic Metal, Symphonic Black Metal and neoclassical metal.ย  I would just like to call it some of the best growl vocals, and hard head banging music I’ve ever heard. ย  Their mix of melodic hooks and instrumental acrobatics have solidified the band as one of the leading voices of music’s new generation.ย

2

Let’s meet the guys:ย

Alexi Laiho โ€“ Guitars & Vocals
Jaska Raatikainen โ€“ Drums
Henkka Blacksmith โ€“ Bass
Janne Warman โ€“ Keyboards
Daniel Freyberg โ€“ Guitars

Formed as Inearthed in 1993, The group is led by superstar frontman/guitarist Alexi Laiho, who was voted “Best Metal Guitarist” by readers of Guitar World magazine.ย  COB albums are no strangers to debut positions on the American Billboard Top 200 chart and with three consecutive albums debuting at number one on Finnish album charts, they are one of their home country’s bestselling artists of all time with more than 250,000 records sold there alone.

COBTV Behind the scenes:ย  Part 2

COBTV Behind the Scenes:ย  Part 3

One of my favorites, remember the discussion on this one Juha:

Follow the Reaper

I have a few interesting things you might not know:

Children Of Bodom took their name from the 1960 Lake Bodom murders,ย  where three teenagers were killed in their tent while camping by the lake.ย  The murder is still unsolved.

Bodom is releasing a beer in association with Fat Lizard Brewing Company, who is based in the band’s hometown of Espoo, Finland.ย  A promotional video for the lager is posted on YouTube, describing Lake Bodom Pre-Prohibition Lager as “a modern take on a classic with a dark twist.”ย  “Water used from Lake Bodom puts this over the top and makes it so good you can bury a few in one go, so beware!”ย  It will go on sale February 1st in Finland.

Everytime I Die

To me Children of Bodom has all the qualities I love in a great Metal Band.ย  The drums, the bass,ย  and number one a great singer, Alexi, PERKELE, what a voice with great range and most of all GROWL VOCALS.ย  As you can see, COB is a lot more than just another Metal Band, they’re involved in other projects, but they never forget the music.ย  Think about it 20 years and they still have the FIRE……

7

Well my Head Bangers that’s it for this week.ย  Join me next week for another Band another Song.ย  Remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you cant handle the burn……………..

Week 17 – 10 Gauge

Old-school rock is back… and it gets a contemporary twist from the sensational British hard-rock outfit โ€” 10 GAUGE.

7

Musically and sonically, 10 GAUGE returns to the rhetoric and style of the late 1980’s and early 1990’s to play their exciting brand of rock with the same dedication and inner strength as bands like Metallica, Megadeth and of course Iron Maiden.

These musicians were raised on a diet of alt-rock, so although they might be inspired by the greats of NWOBHM, they aren’t obsessed with the notion of trying to reinvent the vintage sounds.ย  So, for example, tough alternative hitters such as Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry are big influences on their playing and compositional style.

10 GAUGE believes in making broad-shouldered, hard-wearing, durable rock. They put on a show and they create strapping-great sounds filled with power and melodic perception.ย  Listen to my favorite “Knight of the Living Dead”, it bangs it out Head Bangers:

The band centers around TJ (lead guitar) and Rob Jewson (vocals) with Kieran Best (also guitar), Gareth Dearing (bass) and Neil Felgate (drums).

Kieran Best - Rhytm Guitar far left

ย Here are the guys, left to right:

Kieran Best, TJ, Gareth Dearing, Rob Jewson, and Neil Felgate.

“We’re private people,” TJ says, “With households to run and family obligations – but we’re not building a fortress around our band…On the contrary – we want to sweep-up our audience.ย  We want to bring our fans into our family circle, we want to embrace them.” “We are working on some new songs and a video, we would appreciate the support from all our fans and hope they enjoy sharing our music.”

Seriously Head Bangers, how can you not love these guys.ย  Another band that cares about their fans, loves making good head banging music and are on fire….

1

The band is based in Hertfordshire on the outskirts of North London.ย  Their credo:ย  toil and graft brings revelry.ย  The band possesses unlimited potential.ย  They are proud of their work ethic.ย  “We took our band name from the type of harder-hitting, fret-buzzing, 10-gauge strings we fit onto our guitars…we’re never wound too tight.

This work-hard band are united by strong relationships and common interests, and that’s how the guys accumulate their energy so efficiently. Their close bond is the fissionable material that gives their songs a distinctive euphoria, a crackling rockiness and, ultimately, that deep emotion.ย

Hand You’re Dealt

I have to add that in all these weeks, 17 so far and still going strong, I have learned something from all these Bands, what is it, well I have learned that there are still people that love what they do, care about others, always have a good word to say, are not arrogant but, down to earth and willing to help in anyway they can.ย  Yeah ok I know I’m getting soft, NOT, I just call it as I see it Head Bangers.ย  Remember I’m the jaded one, but all these bands are really making me rethink how I look at this world. ย

Well that’s it for this week Head Bangers, join me next week for a special Valentine’s week band ”CHILDREN OF BODOM”,ย  LMAO, Yep bring on the head banging growl vocals as loud and hard as you can.ย  See you Bangers then and be safe.ย

Week 16 – Everlit

12First let’s meet the guys that make up Everlit:

They are from left to right:

Jordan – Guitar

Ryan – Vocals

Anthony – Guitar

Fidelity – Drums

Kyle – BassKyle

Now for some background on the Band:

Everlit is a hard rock band from Philadelphia, Pa.ย  Their hard-hitting debut EP “Renovate” was release June 23, 2015. ย  They have since released 3 singles with a new one coming every month of so through 2019.ย  They will be releasing singles on by one off their full-length album “Welcome To The Show”, prior to releasing the physical album.

The Band was off to a fast start in radio, with single “Break Away” the most added song on Billboard’s Mainsteam Rock Chart the week of April 23, 2015.ย  “Break Away” spent 20 straight weeks in the top 10 on Loudwire’s Battle Royale, great reviews from Loudwire, AXS, National Rock Review, Shout It Loud Reviews, Examiner.com, and more.

ย They have performed and/toured with Avenged Sevenfold, In This Moment, Fuel, Otherwise, Trapt, 36 Crazyfists, Boy Hits Car, Burn Halo and Black Tide.ย  The Band will continue to announce tour dates to support the music.

Now my Head Bangers, let’s listen to “Break Away”

The next two songs have a very clear message that I will discuss below, but you have to listen to the next two Videos and really hear the words

First I have to say Ryan has a great voice, you can hear every single word that comes out of his mouth, even when doing growl vocals, which I would love to hear more of, please do a single with a lot more growl vocals.ย  The energy these guys put into every song to get their message across is amazing. On to the songs Head Bangers.

“The Call of Gaia”,ย  I feel this song is one that everyone on this planet should listen to till they get the message that we are destroying our planet. Yes global warming is real, we as caretakers are doing a shitty job of taking care of it an all its inhabitants. We all bear the responsibility to clean up our acts before mother nature decides she has had enough and sets the planet on fire and puts us into the fossil zone.ย

1

“Immortal”ย  What can I say about this song?ย  The struggle to stand and not run when your brain is telling you to get out of there.ย  The strength to keep struggling when adversity is standing right in front of you.ย  We all are jaded to an extent but, we all have to dig down inside of ourselves and as the song says I’ll not die defeated.ย  Spoken like a true warrior.ย  Head Bangers we all have to be warriors in these days of uncertainty.

Well Head Bangers I hope Everlit has given you alot to think about, and what you can do to bring about change to this world we live in. ย

A message to the fans from Everlit:

“Knowing that our music impacts so many lives in a positive way is the reason we keep writing music.”

Everlit also has a new single dropping on February 15th, “Unbreakeable”

Well Head Bangers that’s it for tonite.ย  Join me next week, new week, new band and remember don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t take the burn…

For more songs and more info on September Sky visit their website, it’s one of the best I’ve seen at: ย  http://www.septemberskyband.comย  and Twitter @Septembersky_

When I started this blog 3 1/2 months ago I knew of only 10 Degrees of Metal, they were: Black, Death, Doom, Gothic, Grindcore, Power, Progressive, Speed, Trash, and True.ย  Metal is ever changing there are more than 10 now, but I love the sound of 10 Degrees of Metal, remember with me its all about the Head Banging and standing to close to the fire, but isn’t that what Metal really is all about, Loud, Head Banging and the burn……………

6

Join me next week my Head Bangers, new week and a new band.ย  See you then and don’t stand to close to the fire if you can’t handle the burn….

Week 13 – The Edge of Reason

The Edge Of Reason (TEOR) is a rock band, founded 2012 in Regensburg, Germany.
Musically, driving rhythms meet with very catchy melodies with partial punky and rocky elements. The dynamic combination of brutal shouts and growls with the extraordinary clean voice of lead vocalist Ro Seven lends the band unmistakable character.
The debut album ”Broken But Not Torn” was released in 2017. An impressive music video was released for the single ” Is She Worth It ”.
The single “River”, released on November 16, 2018, reached #40 in the iTunes Rock Charts and offers a first and thrilling outlook on the second full-length album, which will be released by STF Records in October 2019.

group shot

ย  From left to right are:

Dani Schoeneber – Base

Niko Van Laak – Drums

Ro Seven – Lead Vocals

Billy Oldboy – Guitar

Alex Gorst – Guitar

This is the single “Is She Worth It”, one of my favorites:

I asked about touring and these are their exact words:

We will tour Germany after the release of our next album.
At the moment, we concentrate on writing an producing it.
Next single out if it will be released end of march.
We play some festivals during this summer.

They also have a message for their fans:

Well, bands are nothing without fans. Every band should know this very well.
As a very emotional band with a lot of lyrics about mental illness and other problems in life, we see fans like they are family.
Thatโ€˜s why we have that list TEOR Family.
And whenever we have time, we will answer every message of a fan.ย  So, we love to touch our fans with our lyrics and music.

And we really work hard to make it someday to international touring and meet some of our best fans personally.

Upcoming Show dates:

02.08.2019 // Regensburg, Germany

03.07.2019 // Cvikov, Czech Republic

03.08.2019 // Ostrava-Vรญtkovice, Czech Republic

And this statement my Head Bangers deserves (you guessed it) to feel the burn, they are the genuine deal, a band that cares about others and still can rock.

The newest release in November 2018, “The River”, another excellent song, love this video.

As I have said often, all music crosses over into anotherย  like rock, hard rock, metal and all it degrees, sooner or later they all meet and meld into each other providing us with some good Head Banging.ย  Leave yourself open to different types of Rock and Metal you then will be able to feel the fire and not get burned.

Week 11 – Apocalyptica

Here they are “APOCALYPTICA”

From left to right:

Paavo Lotjonen – Cellist

Mikko Siren – Drummer

Eicca Toppinen – Cellist

Perttu Kivilaakso – Cellist

Franky Perez – Vocalist

Since forming in 1993, this Finnish orchestral rock/metal band has released 8 albums featuring cello-based instrumentals and some with vocal-based songs.ย  They have explored with their music and it grabs you like nothing else, it’s dynamic and full of melody.

On May 10, 1996 the released their epic debut PLAYS METALLICA BY FOUR CELLOS.ย  the cello-driven rock changed the way of heavy music for years to come.ย

Upon its release, PLAYS METALLICA BY FOUR CELLOS, was a new approach to the hits of the biggest metal band the world has seen. Even more APOCALYPTICA created their own genre and laid the foundation to a career that has lasted for over 20 years so far with millions of records sold and sold out shows around the world.ย

I like how they use different singers with different songs.ย  Franky Perez, his voice will just grab you every time you hear him. ย

I stumbled across Apocalyptica on Twitter, then I went to UTube and found this song by them with Brent Smith called “Not Strong Enough”.ย

I swear I could not believe I had never heard of them before, where have you been all my life.ย  3 Cellist and a set of drums, come on I thought, OMG was I in for it.ย  I listened to this song for 10 days, on the way to work, at work, on the way home from work, everywhere and anywhere.ย  This song was trying to speak to me and I had to listen till I finally heard what it was trying to say to me.2Join me in the fire it said, I was drawn to them without question, and fell into the fire that is APOCALYPTICA.

This song “Dead Man’s Eyes”,ย  just takes me to another time and place.

Apocalyptica – Part 2

One block is just not enough for this band, every song speaks to me, and now I have almost all their music on my phone, they are with me everywhere every day.ย  Now how about some HEAD BANGING, to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”,ย  and now another place they have taken me, and you I hope.

ย They have quiet a few of Metallica’s songs and I’m telling you they are the Cello Gods. ย

Just look at these guys, if you can’t hear and see what they bring you have a problem and don’t deserve to feel their burn…..

1

Strange thing happened today.ย  I wanted to blast in the New Year with these GODS, then I find out they are going to be in my city in May 2 days after my birthday.ย  Being drawn into their fire well I will gladly walk into it with out a second thought.4

I will leave you with this thought, with all the bullshit going on in this world today, sometimes we have to escape, music, Rock/Metal is mine.ย  It talks to me daily and I can never give it up.ย  Until next week my Head Bangers, another band, another week.ย  Listen to what the music is really saying, listen quietly and let it soak in, you will be glad you did and then and only then can you survive the fire…

After months of auditioning potential band members, he finally put Hidden Scars together will the below artists;

Joel Floyd West:ย  Vocals, Keys, Programming

Rust Dust: Base

New Video Head Bangers

Well my headbangers, this is one of those bands that is very dark, some of you will like it and some of you will not, but its still music and deserves to be heard.ย  I would like to add that when chatting with Fab, he was a great guy, sent me all the info and anything else I need for the blog.ย  All music has a message and it’s up to the listener to figure out what it means to them, just don’t stand to close to the fire headbangers, you will surely feel this burn…โ€ฆโ€ฆ..

Week 8 – FIREPROVEN

To say that Fireproven is a unique progressive melodic death metal band from Tampere, Finland, known for its energetic live performances and hard-working attitude is putting it mildly.  Believe me, I do my research and if after listening to their music your mind in not in another dimension or deep in space better have your gray matter checked my head bangers cause this is a whole different kind of burn..

Their 2017 video  “Shine” , was awarded the International Underground Music Video Contest for best director of photography.  Check it and see why, its really a work of art.

Lets meet the guys:

Janne    Janne Vaatamoinen

Guitar and Clean Vocals

Ilari   Ilari Hannul

  Keyboard

Nuutti  Nuutti Hannula

  Drums

Juha  Juha Vaatamoine

  Bass and Growl Vocals

You know how us head bangers love our growl vocals!!!  It’s crazy to think that these four guys can make such mind expanding music and still grab that metal part of us, are you feeling the burn yet my bangers…โ€ฆ.

2

The band’s previous release Omnipresence got full scores in many reviews including Inferno, the biggest metal magazine in Finland. Music video New Born Truth from Omnipresence has also succeeded internationally.  Check it, I love the drums in this one, but hey I like drums and growls lmao

Fireproven became a band in 2006.  In  February 2019 the band is headed off to the Baltic to begin some touring, and I wish them much success.  I asked if they had any message for their fans and followers and they asked me to pass this along to you:   “We love you and appreciate your endless support”.   I would like to thank Janne for his help in getting me info on the band for you bangers.  When I asked him if they would consider being on the blog his response was “Of course my friend”,  they truly care about every fan and follower.  I hope that this blog will open your mind to all the different aspects of Metal, I just love it and I hope you will too.

And last from the latest 2018 release “Future Diary”, comes The Tower, close your eyes, sit back, and see where this one takes you bangers…โ€ฆ.

Well guys this is it for tonite.  I hope you enjoyed a look into some Metal and yet something different.  Please feel free to leave a comment and if you know any bands that would like to be on the blog just DM at twitter, Im happy to help out wherever I can.  Till next week enjoy Fireproven, and keep banging……

Week 7 – Amon Amarth-November 30

As a true Viking lover I could not pass this band up, especially with the return of the History Channels “Vikings”, who made me a “Viking Warrior” on August 26, 2017 it was a great honor.ย  It’s with great respect,ย  I present Amon Amarth.

Valhall Awaits Me ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Does anyone recognize our Vikings below??

Crow

Amon Amarth is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Tumba, Sweden formed in 1992. As a Tolkien fan I loved that they take their name from the Sindarin name of Mount Doom, a volcano in J. R. R. Tolkienโ€ฒs Middle-earth.ย  Ifย  you listen to their music you’ll find if deals mainly with Viking Myths and history.ย  Their videos are like watching a short Viking movie, I just love them.ย  The band is composed of lead guitarist Olavi Mikkonen, vocalist Johan Hegg, bassist Ted Lundstrรถm, rhythm guitarist Johan Sรถderberg, and drummer Jocke Wallgren.ย  Is this a Viking Warrior looking bunch or not, I think so, you all know me gotta love all this Viking Hair…..

Amon Amarth

Guardians of Asgaard

This Video just blows me away,ย  I’ve watched it so many times….

Twilight Of The Thunder God

Seriously warriors if this doesn’t get your adrenaline flowing you’re just dead.

The Pursuit of Vikings: 25 Years in the Eye of the Storm features live concerts, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the band. It highlights the quintetโ€™s history and the fans who followed them over the years.ย  It is available on their websiteย  AmonAmarth.com

I couldn’t help myself, I had to put up one more, can’t stop listening to their music. ย  This one isย  First Kill ย

Well all my Viking Warriors I hope you love these guys as much as I do.ย  The music is, well what can I say if you don’t love this there is something wrong with you.ย  Till next Saturday keep bangin my Head Bangers, till you feel that burn,,,

Week 6 – November 23, 2018 โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ.. Chernobyl’s Uterus – Grindcore Metal at it’s finest from Pripyat, Ukraine

Here is a current picture of the band minus Captain Margaret that was taking the pic, from left to right is: Lunch Lady from 3rd grade, Mrs. Nezbit, Toadsmasher (my personal favorite the screamer), and Kitten the Mutilatorย

IMG_5978

Well as promised this week is a band call Chernobyl’s Uterus, yes I know just go with me and it will all be explained.ย  These 5 men are from Pripyat, Ukraine, a town built for workers of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.ย  At that time these 5 lived in the Orphanage in Pripyat, which was evacuated after the Chernobyl Nuclear Meltdown in April 1986, causing them to have to stay in Russia for a bit where they vowed to never be parted again and they weren’t, they have always been together and so here they are now in a band called Chernobyl’s Uterus.ย  The name does take you by surprise but after you think about it they were born from the Chernobyl’s meltdown hence the Uterus part.ย  It all makes perfect sense to me.ย  They also choose their own names and here they are complete with baby pics lol.

These two members who are real brothers:ย  to the left is Mrs. Nezbit and to the ย  ย ย  right is Lunch Lady from 3rd Grade.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  boys 6

This is oneย  of my favorite songs:

You guys know how I feel about the music, what speaks to me may not speak to you and vice versa, but that’s what we love about music isn’t it, something for everyone

The Guys are currently in the states for another week doing their next album, which I am honored to debut right here, now guys don’t go ape shit over the cover ok, this is Mindy @iheartmindy from our ownย  Twitter home, and don’t bug the shit out of her alright be gentlemen or the closest you can get to it ok, thank you guys.

And without further interruptions my headbangers here is the new song and of course I am having issues down loading it so I have put the bandcamp link just click on it and it will take you right to the song, sorry guys, shit happens.ย  With Captain Margaret on drums, Kitten the Mutilator is Lead Guitar, Mrs. Nesbit on Bass, Lunch Lady from 3rd Grade on Rhythm Guitar and the one and only Toadsmasher as the Screamer Frontman. ย

Name of the song is:ย  Hippie Curbstomp King

https://chernobylsuterus.bandcamp.com/album/hippie-curbstomp-king-single

In the meantime here’s another favorite of mine: Steve Won’t Answer the Goddamn Phone

Yes people please feed your kittens, lmfao.

Well that’s it guys, and you know I always say a few words about the band.ย  A few words just doesn’t cover it for these guys.ย  I spent hours chatting and I love these guys like family, so check them out they are fucking awesome and I mean that.

THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD FFDP – Week 5

The one and only Five Finger Death Punch, ย  Zoltan, Ivan, Jason, Jeremy, and Chris.

IMG_4679 (Edited)

I remember listening to my brother playย  Metallica and I really loved them, eventually I stumbled over Disturbed and an after hearing Dave scream and all his other sounds I thought OMG where have you been all my life lmao.ย  Then one day a local radio station played a song by FFDP, I was like who the hell is that, then WTF I heard this guy sing who went from a gut wrenching scream in your face and then to a really smooth voice and the music omg Zoltan, those dreads and those drums.ย  Wait, What, Who, Where holy shit I gotta find these guys quick, that was years ago and I still never tire of my boys, they are and will always be my number one love, they can bring you up and they give me that extra push to get me going in the morning.ย  Listen to this first thing in the morning:

FFDP has a song for every emotion you are having.ย  Sometimes you just want to do some headbanging and some days you don’t.ย  Now when I’m pissed and I need some motivation to pick my ass up and get back to it this one does it for me.

Not one day goes my in my life that I do not find a song for whatever the moment needsย  that day.ย  Break up with your boyfriend and its this

It’s amazing to me how Metal has evolved.ย  People I work with call this devil music and I have to LMFAO, believe me I tell them you want some devil music just stick around and I’ll get to it.ย  No matter how I feel that day or week or month FFDP always gets me through it an I have to thank them so much for always being there, through the good and the bad and the ugly.

Forever Still, from Copenhagen, Denmark,ย  with Maja Shining as the front woman, was formed in 2010.ย  Mikkel Haastrup is the amazing multi instrumentalist, Dennis Stockmarr and Maja Partsch make up this group that tours in Europe.ย  I would love to see them in the US.ย  Watching their videos just makes me do some head banging in my chair at work, ask my co-workers lmao, they don’t get it.

Awaken the Fire, this makes me realize I’ve always been looking for that someone to be a team but then after listening to Maja I’ve been standing and taking care of myself along.ย  Maya is an inspiration.

Miss Madness, what can I say is there anything this band does that I don’t like, that’s a big NO.

SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST BORN TO ROCK AND MAJA IS ONE OF THEM.
